In 4K City Walks: Old Street to Tower Bridge Morning Commute - Virtual Walk Walking Treadmill Video we start at our Hotel near the Old Street Metro station (a Holiday Inn Express London City) and make our way down through the financial district, past the tower of London and over Tower Bridge. I’m sure I get some things wrong so, if you are local or know something I missed or got wrong, please correct me. I may have miscalled a building the new scotland yard. I can’t remember and couldn’t find it in the video but that doesn’t mean I didn’t do it. :-(
I was really impressed by the modern architecture mixed with the old historic building as well as all the people on bikes. It was fantastic to see that. Though, does anyone know if there is a law prohibiting electric bikes? I was surprised that I didn’t really see any.
We walk past the walky-talky building and the Gherkin building, such great names. We had gone to the Tower of London the day before and had a great time learning about all the history, but I’d never walked across the Tower Bridge. It was cool to see the boat tours going below on the Thames and Melynda, my wife, took a tour of the towers on the bridge the day before and said there’s a glass walkway that she had to work up the courage to walk on.
All in all, I love the city of London. It’s so vibrant and colorful with history and modern culture and great pubs and restaurants too. I’d go back in a flash.
Explore London in this Virtual walk through the city on the Thames. Virtual walks for treadmill and virtual walking trails can be such a great way to explore treadmill walking scenery while on your treadmill exercise routine. A virtual hike or virtual treadmill walk is much better than just staring at the wall or getting angry at cable news. Walking trails for treadmill with treadmill walking scenery is just more enjoyable. Thank for watching and walking along with us.

20 Fenchurch Street is a commercial skyscraper in London that takes its name from its address on Fenchurch Street, in the historic City of London financial district. It has been nicknamed 'The Walkie-Talkie' because of its distinctive shape.
30 St Mary Axe, informally known as The Gherkin, is a commercial skyscraper in London's primary financial district, the City of London. It was completed in December 2003 and opened in April 2004
The City of London is a city and local government district that contains the historic centre and the primary central business district (CBD) of London. It constituted most of London from its settlement by the Romans in the 1st century AD to the Middle Ages, but the agglomeration has since grown far beyond the City's borders. The City is now only a tiny part of the metropolis of London, though it remains a notable part of central London.
The City of London is widely referred to simply as the City (differentiated from the phrase "the city of London" by capitalising City) and is also colloquially known as the Square Mile, as it is 1.12 sq mi (716.80 acres; 2.90 km2) in area. Both of these terms are also often used as metonyms for the United Kingdom's trading and financial services industries, which continue a notable history of being largely based in the City. The name London is now ordinarily used for a far wider area than just the City. London most often denotes the sprawling London metropolis, or the 32 London boroughs, in addition to the City of London itself. This wider usage of London is documented as far back as 1888, when the County of London was created.
The Tower of London, officially Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress of the Tower of London, is a historic castle located on the north bank of the River Thames in central London. It lies within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, separated from the eastern edge of the square mile of the City of London by the open space known as Tower Hill. It was founded towards the end of 1066 as part of the Norman Conquest of England.
Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London, built between 1886 and 1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Because of this, Tower Bridge is sometimes confused with London Bridge, situated some 0.5 mi (0.80 km) upstream.

For me, the longer the better. I watch these during my long meals or during exercise. I'll often play these for several hours while writing bits of software--for now there's nothing more heartening than to listen sounds of life and to look up and see that I'm walking on an iconic city street or among cows toward the Eiger. These walks also prepare me for my own city walks.

I like the length of your videos. Even if I am only doing a 30 minute walk, I just pause it and pick it back up next time. Works for me. As far as driving in London, I did it twice, and never want to do it again. I did get honked at because, silly me, I left space between me and the car in front of me, in a very busy truck filled area. Guess you just don't do that there. Next time its the tube or taxi for me. Thanks again for a great video.

Another great walk! Perfect length for me! Years ago, I rented a car in London. Apparently it had a manual choke...something I had never heard of & didn't have on any of my cars here in the US. LOVING your videos for Covid... I think 1/2 hour and 45 min ones are a good length, love when you talk as your walking (its like I'm walking with someone which during covid is comforting)... and when you keep a good solid consistent pace (as much as it's safe for you to do obviously). The 360 degree ones are problematic as I'm watching an image projected to the TV and can't really reorient anything while simultaneously walking on the treadmill... actually something REALLY bad almost happened the one time I tried

Thanks! That was fun! Brought back some nice memories too. We stopped at that "Drawn and Quartered" pub near the Tower after our tour there. At minute 33 or so when you are walking across a street and there is the corner of a park on your left but you turn right to cross the street toward the tower, that park is I believe the section of Tower Hill where the public executions of those low in the hierarchy took place. If you were "special" like Ann Boleyn you were executed in the tower walls away from public eyes. Crazy!

An hour is a good length of time for me at least 🤓 I used to live, work and drive in London and I'm still not surprised by the number of arsehole inconsiderate bad drivers seen in your video, nevertheless it was a lovely sunny morning huge thanks for taking the time to make and share this 👍👍👍👍✌🏻✌🏻🕊

@@paulgray3444 That's a hard one. Walking is nice in Switzerland, St. Petersburgh blew me away and I wish I'd had more time there, but overall, I think I've enjoyed Scotland the most so far. It's a close call though. All the cities I've been to have been pretty cool. -H

@@CityWalks Thanks... I'm finding I like yours better than some of the other ones... your camera bounces as you walk and you keep a fairly steady pace and I set the treadmills pace to that.... and you talk, so it's like I'm walking around with someone which during covid lockdown (I'm alone in my apartment) is great for the mental health
