@@poptrashholland Indeed. They're pretending it's the same band...but they don't want to admit the truth. At least the Sex Pistols admitted openly during their reunion that the whole thing was a cash grab. (They also know that any Dead Kennedys material without Jello is utterly worthless.)

I won't miss the show since I'm mostly into the songs, but this band without Biafra will likely be a lonely experience. I got to see them in the mid 80s & it was amazing, mostly because of Jello's stage presence & talent behind a microphone. I thought the same about the current Black Flag, but I actually really fucking enjoyed them & have seen them 5 times in 2 years. Mike V is not as good as the other BF vocalists, but he's good nevertheless. So, are Dead Kennedys "worthless" simply because of the absence of the charisma of Biafra, or is it something deeper connected to the drama? I don't care about the drama, BTW, just like I don't care about Black Flag's drama with Greg & everyone & money & fuck it all, I like the songs.

he might've, he's used backline stuff before. A lot of the early hits are a fender super with a gain boost pedal in front, he later modded the fender to add an extra tube to make it more marshall-y. Mikes were usually a 57 or 421

There is a difference between bands that replace the sing but still remain an artistically changing band ( acdc and iron maiden)...and bands that replace someone who just mimics. I mean my god even the new journey guy is extremely talented, but it doesn't take much just to sound like Jello... Not much talent... Only thing that makes Jello great is how original he is with his expression and additude....that's y he's prominent, not because his vocals are so wide and technical

I used to skate around town jamming all the dk shit getting into fights and going to punk shows leaving fucked up and bloody and just being wild and now seeing them all old as shit dressed like they're about to head to Walmart for orthopedic shoes and some wethers originals with a new chump at the helm makes me feel a certain way lol. I loved all the old punk shit but dk was always my favorite.... Wish I never saw this video lol

I guess I'd go see them if they came to town and tickets weren't all that expensive. I mean I love the DK songs, and I can't really help it that I was too young to see them when they were still a touring band. Not the real deal, and I know that...but the guy does a half decent Jello impersonation I guess. I'll put it this way; I was also too young to see Husker Du play , but I have gone to see Bob Mould a few time. I really like his solo work. And very much apples and oranges, but I don't get mad when he plays a few Husker Du songs. Is it the same, hell no....closest I'll ever come.

Yeh saw them in Bristol UK about 15 years ago, was a good night out but yeh... not really DK. Look at how prolific Jello has been with guantanimo school of medicine and before that album's with DOA and the Melvins. They're still just playing the stuff he wrote.

Ofcourse it isent DK, just like Motorhead without Lemmy wouldent be the same. This is just a mean cashgrab, they dont write new lyrics, because it would prove that they cant do it without Jello. Its a cheap imitation of what once was great, they are still riding the wave of their previous work. Its one thing if they would change their name, and actually write and play new songs, I would't have a problem but in this case they have become the type of people they used to hate. They won the lawsuits but they have lost their soul.
