Italian Riviera (Riviera ligure) is the coastal area stretching from La Spezia to Ventimiglia in Italy.
The drive starts at Imperia and goes along the coast to the Italy-France border.

it is called the Riviera dei Fiori ( Riviero of Flowers ) , it is an area where many flowers are grown in greenhouses

All Italians agree that this part of the Riviera enjoys the best pleasent weather in Italy, It never gets warm, but it never gets cold, so that at 44° of latitude you find plenty of tropical plants. The Alps protect The region from the northern wind and the see is very deep so that it helps to Keep the temperature stable.

🇮🇹The city of Imperia was established in 1923 from the merger of two cities, Oneglia and Porto Maurizio, and two historically and geographically distinct territories. Before the cession of Nice to France in 1860, the territory of the province of Porto Maurizio/Imperia was part of the Division/Province of Nice.

Mussolini wanted it , Mussolini was a French teacher in a school in Oneglia in Piazza Ulisse Calvi. In fact in Imperia there is plenty of fascist architecture .He loved Oneglia .Well not many people in Imperia are proud to remember that peculiar historical fact. Exactly like in Vienna in the Kunstakademie where Hitler studied.

My family lived in Imperia, and to go to Monoco, I took the train. This is lovely because you go by car and see more of the inner area heading towards Monoco. One day I hope to be back and live there (Italia)

Great video. We did the return trip from Pisa to Monaco 🇲🇨 last year. We stayed in San Remo on our return leg and had lunch in Menton (a strangely English sounding name). The occasion was our daughter's wedding in Tuscany.

"Menton" is the french word for "the chin".... The old name of the city is "Mentonum"....I guess Menton means "Rock" (Rocher in french)

In Greece, we call these very hungry people Ligurians, a hint from the Middle Ages when the Italians with the Crusaders occupied Constantinople in 1204 and looted and stole everything. Of course, with the reference to the word Ligouris, we do not immediately associate the Italians, this reference has been forgotten in the people's consciousness! Anyway, we have inherited this word from Liguria Λιγουρης

L'Italia produce eccellenti auto sportive e berline, ma per qualche motivo gli stessi italiani ed europei guidano auto piccole e vecchie. ALL OF THESE SQUARE CEMENT BUILDINGS ALONG THE FRENCH COAST HAVE DESTROYED ANY BEAUTY WHICH MAY HAVE BEEN THERE. MAYBE YOU CAN FIND A GARDEN HERE AND THERE LIKE THE ROTHSCHILD AND THESE ARE EXPENSIVE VISITS.
