In summer 2022 I visited the water garden Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe in Kassel in the German state Hessia. It is the largest European hillside park and second largest park on a hill slope in the world. Construction of the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe began in 1689 and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park's main attraction are the impressive water features, which are powered solely by gravity and are activated step by step, allowing visitors to follow the water in stages. The water garden starts at the Hercules monument at the top of the hill. Below the monument you can hear the hydraulically powered water organ around the grotto area. Afterwards the water flows onto the large water cascades. The next feature is the Steinhöfer waterfall thereafter follows the waterfall at the devil's bridge. Another attraction is the aqueduct with a waterfall. The water features conclude in a pond with the great fountain which spouts up to 50 m (164 ft) tall into the air.
