現在の神奈川県鎌倉市の中心部に当たる地域である。三浦半島北西部（付け根）に位置し、相模湾に面している。三方を山に、一方を海に囲まれている。鎌倉駅東口から鶴岡八幡宮の南西角（横大路との交差点）まで、若宮大路の西側に並行する360メートルほどの北行き一方通行の道で、店舗数約250店の商店街を形成する。南側は小町一丁目、北側は雪ノ下二丁目にあたる。地元客向けの日用品販売店のほか、観光客を対象とした土産物店や飲食店が軒を連ね[4]、鶴岡八幡宮の参詣客や修学旅行生でにぎわう。
Kamakura city
This area is located in the center of Kamakura City, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is located in the northwestern part (root) of the Miura Peninsula and faces Sagami Bay. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. From the east exit of Kamakura Station to the southwest corner of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (the intersection with Yokooji), a 360-meter northbound one-way road parallel to the west side of Wakamiyaoji forms a shopping district with about 250 stores. The south side is Komachi 1-chome and the north side is Yukinoshita 2-chome. In addition to daily necessities stores for local customers, souvenir shops and restaurants for tourists are lined up [4], and it is crowded with worshipers and school excursion students at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu.
