The 4K hiking video presents in real-time one of the most known trails in Germany, The Watzmann Traverse (Überschreitung). We did it as a day tour, starting and ending at Wimbachbrücke parking space. The weather was very nice for mid-September, and there were a lot of people doing the trail.The Watzmann-Ridge is a steep one, the route is partially protected by steel cables, and one has to do a lot of scrambling to move forward. There are wonderful 360 degrees views from up there to other high peaks around, like Großglockner, Großvenediger or Dachstein. Enjoy!

I just completed the Watzmann traverse two weeks ago on 19 August 2021. This video is the best resource prior to the traverse because it is shot in normal view and not fisheye lens (thus, you can truly see the layout of the pathways). Most videos of the Watzmann traverse are shot in fisheye lens and they give you a false impression of the traverse (they make the paths seem narrower than they really are). Second, this video shows the whole traverse start to finish. It was an incredible boost of confidence to see this video. Me and my buddy used ferratta kit on the traverse but I saw several climbers using only freehand. If you have any questions about doing the traverse please feel free to ask here or message me. Hi, thanks a lot, I am very glad you found the video useful. That's also my point in doing real-time videos showing a full route, someone can better see for him(her)self if the route is possible or not. We were doing it without a ferrata kit, but saw some people using one, I think it gives a good boost of confidence to have one with you.

Homeboy in spandex and red hat with nothing but a camel back and walking poles is a true beast. He was fearless!

Hi, yes, he did it great. Watzmann traverse is wonderful, but is not for everyone. However the weather was announced to be great the whole day, so one wouldn't need too much luggage, but great muscles and good technique.

What more can I say? Speechless. The view from the peak is otherworldly. The trail is indeed technical and needs paying attention but it's doable in the end. Thank you for another great virtual adventure. Simply stunning. Keep it up, my brother :)

Ja, so ist das Video gedacht :) Es war ein sehr schönes Tour, und wir haben es gemacht am letzten Tag als es möglich war ohne Winterausrüstung. Am nächsten Wochenende war schon Schnee da oben.

Hey, um wieviel Uhr seid ihr an der Wimbachbrücke gestartet? Möchte die Tour auch Ende diesen September laufen und vor "den anderen" am Hocheck bzw. auf dem Grat sein. Ich hatte an ca. 3:00 Start gedacht, sodass man gegen 7 am Hocheck steht....

Salut, nu as fi crezut ca esti din Romania. Oricum ma bucur foarte mult de asta. In septembrie, mai precis pe 19.09 am fost si eu pe acelasi trail. Viel Spaß beim Wandern und Bergsteigen! :)

Salut, da, sunt din Romania :) Locuiesc de cativa ani in Holzkirchen, 30km sud de München. Nu te-ai regasit in video? Cred ca exact pe 19.09 am fost si eu :) Am plecat pe la 6.30 din cate imi aduc aminte de la parcarea Wimbachbrücke.

@@realtimenature8507 din pacate nu m-am vazut in video. Eu am plecat din parcare de la Hammerstiel ceva mai devreme. Foarte fain ca te afli aproape de Alpi. Eu stau in nord in Niedersachsen (Hanovra) si noi aici avem o parte din Harz (o grupare de munti mici) si cateva dealuri, in rest e totul plat.

@@alltoone Am locuit si eu cam 3 ani prin nordul Germaniei, in Dresden si Berlin, pana sa ne mutam in sud, initial 1 an in Augsburg, apoi aici in Holzkirchen, 30km sud de München. Am mers si eu in Harz de 2 ori, pe Brocken, o data iarna, o data vara. Din Dresden mergeam des in Sächsische Schweiz sau Erzgebirge, o regiune foarte pitoreasca la granita cu Cehia, cu munti de 500-600m, dar forme stancoase spectaculoase.

Cel mai probabil de indata ce se ridica restrictiile (incluzand redeschiderea HoReCa), sper macar in Aprilie, sa fac o incursiune de un weekend. Apropo, vroiam sa te intreb daca esti membru al unei sectiuni DAV (Deustcher Alpenverein)? Pe langa asta as mai avea cateva intrebari dar nu vreau sa umplu aici spatiul cu mesaje. :)

A fost superb totul, vremea, peisajele, partenerul de tura, un traseu deosebit. Cred ca am prins ultimul weekend posibil pentru asa ceva, acum a nins la munte la peste 1300-1500m.
