自然に包まれた美しい境内のお寺です。山門を入って左手に本堂があり、山門からまっすぐに続く階段を上がった先に月影堂(観音堂)があります。
It is a temple with beautiful grounds surrounded by nature. Upon entering the temple gate, the main hall is on the left, and at the top of the stairs that continue straight from the gate, you will find the Tsukikage-do (Kannon Hall).
山門をくぐり、すぐ左手に「観音延命水」といわれる湧き水があり、一口飲むと三十三日長生きができると言われています。
Immediately to the left after passing through the temple gate is a spring of water called "Kannon Enmei-sui" (Kannon Water of Enmei). It is said that if you drink a sip of it, you will live 33 days longer.
月影堂(観音堂)は、かつては山の上にあったそうですが、大正8年（1919年）に蒸気機関車の煤煙による火災で焼失
した後、平成8年（1996年）に本堂裏手の一段高い所に観音堂が再建されたそうです。
Tsukikage-do (Kannon-do) used to be located on top of a mountain, but it was destroyed by fire caused by smoke from a steam locomotive in 1919. In 1996, the Kannon-do was rebuilt on a higher level behind the main hall.
今回は札所27番の竜河山・大渕寺をお参りし、巡礼道を通って札所28番へ向かいました。
美しい秩父の巡礼道をお楽しみ頂けると嬉しいです。
