Back in the day I played Skyrim with mods, a load order with 200 mods was already hell to avoid CTD. I can't even imagine the logistics of arranging over 3000 mods

It always blows my mind how this even possible on Bethesda's old buggy ass engine. How? It looks so good it's insane. This is what people expect games to look like nowadays but instead we get the opppsite. Skyrim with mods really is still one of the best games ever. It just works.

I mean it's probably because the xbox series x and ps5 couldn't come close to running this with playable frames, and 90% of people's pcs would burst into flames trying to run this.

@@motoman223 Yeah, but not every game has to be for every platform 😉 the consoles themselves always had exclusives throughout the years, so it is fair game (yes it has changed a bit though with a lot of exclusives now being on Steam). Plus, they can just scale down the game drastically like they always do anyways. High end PCs are meant to be able to run "the best of the best", to an extent, but they need the content to be able to do that. Instead we get Ubisoft-EA-Blizzard half-baked or fking raw buggy a$$ games that end up flopping or doing well in the beginning, but then slowly die out over a still relatively quick period of time. "90% of people's pcs would burst into flames trying to run this." It doesn't have to be this nice, but with proper optimization, like there should be, a lot of games should be closer to this instead of being closer to something like Battlefield 2042, or whatever Battlefield it was that was trash. PCs that can't run it can quite literally with one click of a button click on Quality Preset: Low/Potato. There is no reason Ultra(+) can't be _ultra_ next-gen looking, other than the companies just being too lazy and/or cheap to do it. By companies I mostly really mean the investors, since they're usually the problem.

Modders have had 13 years to mod the hell out of Skyrim. And they've got a slew of much more powerful hardware to work with. I'd honestly be more surprised if they hadn't made it look this good

@@ghostghostbusters789 There's no excuse why a multi-billion dollar company can't make something even half this good, while modders who are working for free or just with donations, while also working a job or even second job, can make something this insane in an ancient incredibly buggy engine. There is no logic in it other than companies don't want to spend the money to do it. These companies have BILLIONS of dollars. You're telling me they don't have access to powerful hardware too? They should have EVEN MORE powerful hardware. They also have access to the newest game engines, while again, Skyrim modders are working with Bethesda's ancient outdated engine and still making the game better than anything that exists today (besides modded Minecraft, that's also insane too). I am surprised they made it this good because the engine is so outdated this shouldn't even be possible.. but a lot of modders are professionals so it kind of makes sense, sort of. A lot of coders, engineers, etc. in the scene. Some of the mods out there shouldn't be possible with this game engine, though, yet they figure out how to do it anyways. Incredible work by these guys.

Always exciting to see new Skyrim footage! I think this is where the art of modding really shines. The game retains the same charm of the original design but cranks everything up without losing anything in the process (unlike all the lifeless remakes flooding the market).

But there aren't 'lifeless remakes flooding the market'. At all. I can only think of two off the top of my head such as XIII. If the remake hasn't taken anything away from the original, then it can only be lifeless if the original game was, which is a reflection of the original. Funny how often people who clearly don't play any games feel like they comment on aspects of the industry.

@@cenciende9401 Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4, Silent Hill 2, Dead Space, etc. These are lifeless games because the story has been told. They are just rehashing the game. And they are lifeless because they are draining the industry. When the original Resident Evil came out, it opened up doors for more horror games like Silent Hill, Siren, Dino Crisis and Eternal Darkness. New ideas tend to breed new ideas. These remakes, while they sell well, are leaving the industry in sad state where no company wants to take the risk on a new idea and thus, can't advance the medium. I worked as a concept artist in the gaming industry for about five years. In that time (about 2011 to 2016), there was tons of work floating around. I would regularly get people messaging me about small freelance jobs and the occasional larger job. Basically, there was lots of movement. These days, it's all dried up. I credit the remakes to a lot of this because they simply don't need the new ideas to be created. They don't need the concept art to be pitched. They don't need the demos. They don't need a proof of concept. A company can just dig up all the old material, slap it into a deck and then say, "Imagine this with photo real graphics!" Mods preserve old games while remakes simply regurgitate them.

@@cenciende9401Yeah, remakes by and large have been pretty awesome: Shadow of the Colossus, Demon's Souls, RE2 and 3, and so on. The only bad ones I can think of are the GTA debacles, and while the Last of Us remakes might have come a little too soon, they're still substantial (and visually impressive) upgrades over their original versions. Though I imagine people still conflate remakes with remasters, where the latter are far more prolific and thus tend to have mixed success.

Damn.....the game is over a decade old and we can still find ways to make it more stunning than our first playthrough. I almost cried when I heard the sound of an unsheathing sword and how gorgeous the game looks. I'm on my second playthrough on the switch, but I won't mind building another PC just to experience this.

Не будет он выдавать стабильные 60 fps. У меня i9-13900K, 32 Гб DDR5 Kingston Fury на частоте 6800 МГц, и тоже RTX 4090. Даже со значительно меньшим количеством графических модов (где-то около 1000) fps скачет от 20 до 180. Я без счётчика fps вижу у него просадки. Ходить и любоваться Скайримом, конечно, прикольно. А как себя ведёт эта сборка при бое с драконом или во время выполнения квестов Гражданской войны?

Пожалуй лучший вариант скал и травы, что был в модах скайрима. Только газоны остались грубоваты. Ну и среди 3100+ модов мог найтись один, поправляющий механику вкладывания меча с ножны на спине. А то это по прежнему похоже на примагничивание.

*This looks like 15-30 fps. Dragon's Dogma 2 ran 15-30 fps in cities (for my PC) so I recognize the framerate. LoL!!* 🤣 *But this game looks incredible with all of these mods. I play Skyrim with Nolvus modlist ( cca 2050 móda ) installed and it is moving fine. Only downside is huge disk space requirements and first loading time

Even though these lists look amazing in these cinematically taken videos, I doubt they are really worth playing.. especially if they are adding creatures and gameplay overhauls. Actually a lot of mods look nice for themselves but then need tons of patches to work with others. And even then it sometimes looks off..
