Mr. Rushton, One more area of showing leakage on what appears to be a good input housing & shaft assembly is the captured check ball, driven into the drum. Being directly behind the 3-4 piston, it allows air out but holds when ATF hits it as that cavity fills. Normally, a 50/50 mixture of solvent & ATF is placed on the top of it from the inside. If it leaks and clean then needs replaced. I had a 87 700R4 with this capsule install from the outside. It was almost pushed out & how it did not fall out is beyond me. Please show that in the future as well as drum-to-shaft seal where pressed in. This may show cracks in the aluminum housing as well. Thanks! ASE Master Tech since 1978 Retired

The trades today are full of people representing themselves as having knowledge and ability. It is terribly difficult for the customer who doesn't have that knowledge to discern who does and who doesn't.

You use the cast overrun piston from a 96 or older when you install the sonnex reinforcement sleeve, as for the cut seal thats the fault of the assembler.

So far ive spent like 600+ on tools and parts for my 4l60e rear planets exploded. In it and found alot of crappy rebuild from last owner nothing but wear in all the bushing journals loose valve body and etc etc reverse piston in case broke in half and blah blah hope iy will last a long time when im done with it

arbor press and bushing driver will pay bigger divideneds than foot press. not downing the foot press i like it.
