Watching this video was awesome! I have a 2004 F150 I had to have the transmission rebuilt because I lost my overdrive. Didn’t realize that a transmission has so many moving parts! Great video!

The bolts that mate the bellhousing to the engine also thread into the two oversize threaded holes in the pump housing. You can tune in tokyo and pull it by hand or slide hammer on the head with light taps.

Thank you, just pulled a f350 5.4 motor that was locked up from a main bearing. So had to pull the converter as well. When the motor locked up it snapped the output shaft tip off so had to pull the pump. Only realized this when replacing the seal. Good thing I checked. Hoping after I replace the pump all else is well. I welded a bolt to a slide hammer and got it out that way.

That’s a 4R75E bc a 75W is a wide ratio transmission and only has one speed sensor on the driver side. The 75E on the other hand has two speed sensors on the driver side as you see on the transmission in the video

You need to do more videos. Great job explaining the process with additional information on part's that are commonly problematic. Speaking of problem parts. Do the main ravigneaux pinion carrier (planetary) have a reputation for failure on these transmission? Would it be safe to replace/rebuild the unit anyway or just check to make sure it's within spec and throw it back in?

nice video, but what spoils it is the loud clunking sounds. i know you're not abusing the parts, it's most likely the mic location. should be clipped on your shirt close to your mouth, that way we can hear what you're saying without the slamming sounds. I found myself cranking the volume knob up/down the whole time. but don't take it wrong, I really appreciate you sharing this information.

I want to make my 06 Ford F-150 2wd into a 4x4 the 2wd transmission is in great shape. I am planning on getting a donor 4x4 would it be best to change out the transmission or swap out the end shaft. I am not a mechanic to work inside a engine or transmission but I can yank them out and install 🤷🏻‍♂️ you make it look easy on a scale from 0 to 10 and 10 being the hardest job what would you think it would be?

Part of the pump where the torque converter slides in you have that brass sleeve, is that replaceable by itself and if so then how would it come in and out, or do you have to replace the whole pump. I’ve got one where the brass sleeve has a crack in it and it’s pissing fluid from the seal area
