Just did this body lift yesterday on my 2017 Laramie longhorn 1500. Very simple but time consuming job. A couple things I’ll say, I never touched the parking brake cable or gas filler neck or gas cap. I did pull the front speed sensor wires off the fender well liners but that was unnecessary. Also I pulled the trans cable out of the holder but I don’t think it needed it as it popped right back in place after the lift. Definitely install the steering shaft extension while the bumper is off gives you tons of access room to the pinion. I sprayed mine with penetrating oil and let it soak and it came apart easily. Thanks for posting this video. The instructions are a little vague when doing the front bumper brackets and this video helped a lot!

Thanks to your video I was able to fix my sons Ram. His steering was shaky and vibrated a lot. He bought his truck with the body lift already on it. When I watched your video I realized they put the steering extension in the wrong place. They put it on the top of the intermediate shaft not the bottom. I guess it was easier for them? I moved it today and now it’s perfect. Thanks for a great video!!

Hey guys. The steering extension they sent me was milled wrong and caused some play in the steering. I contacted performance accessories and they sent me a new extension and it worked perfect. Play in the steering wheel is not normal or safe.

One of the most informative How-To videos ive seen in a while. What kinda issues did you come across when installing? Does the body lift stretch the wiring harnesses?

man you did a good job bruh i got a 2012 ram crew cab with the max trax 7inch lift i did the lift kit install my self took me all day to do it and it just want high enough for me so im looking forward to putting this 3 inch body lift on my truck now to give me that 10 inch lift i want out my truck thanks for the detailed video and not just talking on how to do it like that other guy video.

Think I'm at a stand still. 2016 limited. Factory fender flares. I can't get the front fascia off. Even with that back inner bolt and the one fender well outside bolt, clips all pulled. It won't budge. almost like the fender flare is glued somehow to the front fascia (perhaps around entire fender as well). Not sure how/if to proceed. Bumper (chrome) will come off. Does that plastic fascia have to come off?

That's is how a "how-to video" should go, great video I'm pretty confident in your video to be able to do this myself. I'm curious tho about the gas fill hose was there enough hose for the lift? I ask because the gas tank stays with the frame and the fill hose goes up with the body?

Just about to do body lift on my 1500 and after reading many forums I found that if you have a chrome bumper there's no need to remove grill, lights, and fascia. Just took a look at mine and sure enough the bumper is independent of those items. Just unbolt the bumper and remove

Anyone lifting new ram 1500 dt model with a 4th gen kit you will need 6 - 14mm x 2.0 (coarse thread ) x length needed for lift of cab and bed 1”--4” all bolts are coarse thread the rest are 12mm x1.75 contact river city industrial supply nobody seems to sell a body lift kit with the proper bolts for the dt model. They Advertise one but it does not come in proper bolts good luck

Did the lift negate the need for a leveling kit? I couldn’t tell in the after pictures. Looked level to me.

Have one more question. When you tighten your Allen bolt on your steering extension, did yours just keep spinning when u reached the end?

Hey buddy I’m in the process of doing my 2020 ram dt model , I know they are slightly different but with the electronic transmission gear control what did you encounter with that ? Is there linkage or is it just communicating wire? Please let me know. Also for anyone doing this with the new ram contact me and I’ll give you the difference in bolts for our truck. New ram has some 14mm x2.0 bolts

Just put that lift on the exact same truck today. Same color and year model. Did you have any problems with the front bumper relocation...that fucker is driving me crazy. Bumper won't line up right! Any suggestions?
