I worked with Tully at two jobs. He was one of the first people that went flying with me (multiple times) when I got my pilots license, and at one point when I was riding motorcycles, I told him how much fun it was. I was hit by a car in 2015 and although I did get back on two wheels, it was never the same for me. I sold my bike last year. I'm glad he enjoyed doing this, but I will miss him.

I watched a few of his riding videos on this channel. It is so sad, that he has been taken from this world, at such a relatively young age. I hope he is now completely at peace. It reminds us all that this motorcycle game demands that as a motorcyclist you are 100% on top of your "game", so to speak. Ride within your capabilities, continuously seek to maintain and develop your skill set, wear complete safety gear. I wish all riders who watch this channel, a continuously safe riding experience when they go out on their bikes.

I keep telling new riders not to start on 650s or litre class bikes. They call me old fashioned but these kids jump on bikes pushing out 100+bhp for a beginner. You are basically riding on your own coffin at this point
@kimw200blaze4
@kimw200blaze4 2 жыл бұрын
@@iamrobot396 Yeah I agree. However it's up to the individual to ultimately make that choice in a place like the US. In countries like the Australia and NZ they restrict riders to LAMS ( Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme) motorcycles. So a beginner rider is not allowed to ride a too powerful bike. That is not the case however in the US.

yt just recommended his first vid to me and in the comments i found out he passed away.. i have my license one year and 2 or 3 weeks after driving i went too fast in a corner that closed in more than i thought. i came of the road, ran over a small ditch and right in the middle of tree fork. all that with maybe 50-60kph.. that was the luckiest day of my life and i never told anybody that this happend. my bike only got a few scratches and one indicator fell off. a tree hit my leg but i could just walk it of. some people stopped and helped me pull it out. but i have learned a lot on that day. mainly to analyze my weaknesses and trying to get more skilled. i learned that things take time. i still have flashbacks to that crash like it was a near death experience. please dont rush yourself and make the mistake like so many new riders, including me, do. if that tree fork wouldnt have caught me i wouldnt be writing this comment because id most likely be dead. ride safe, rip to our fallen men

This is so unfortunate, RIP. As with many, I just stumbled upon the first video of him getting his first bike and it put a smile on my face, making me remember all those silly mistakes. But watching this makes me feel uncomfortable. Going 20 or so mph over the limit into a corner just makes my gut wrench, accelerating without seeing an exit and so on. I wish people just were more careful and change such sad statistics, and more people could enjoy riding safely.. Take extra courses, go 10 miles below the limit, not above when you're new, and avoid group rides that make you chase rather than focus on the street signs, hazards and other important stuff. Rest in peace. Im really sorry to say this but I feel that he is yet another victim of the "slow, look, press, roll" parasite that plagues the world of motorcycling in the USA. It puts new riders into a very vulnerable situation, in which they are conditioned to accelerate through the entire turn beginning at corner entry. When inexperienced riders realize they are coming in too hot, they tense up and target fixate to the outside of the corner. You can see Tully do just that in a couple of the turns in this video. Please, please learn trail braking. It is a life saving skill to have. Public road conditions are very unpredictable--especially blind turns through the canyons like this. Ride safe everyone.

This, it's absolutely horrifying to me that his right fingers, at least 1 or 2 of them are not ALWAYS resting on the brake. Feathering the front brake loads the front in a turn, giving your front tire more grip, better to lowside than highside 11/10 times

It's not an advanced technique, it's really one of the first things you need to learn right after brake and clutch control. This guy was, sadly, an accident waiting to happen. No proper training and no clue how to approach, negotiate or position himself around corners. At 45+ minutes he wanders into the oncoming lane because 1) He didn't brake before the corner 2) Had no confidence to lean 3) Didn't look ahead. His method was to roll throttle on then off. There is hardly any braking at all. This indicates he had no idea how to take command of a motorcycle. Please everyone, learn from his tragic mistakes - get yourself a proper course how to ride a motorcycle safely and buy a bike that is within your capabilities. No need for 600-650cc or higher machines. You can have fun on a 250cc-300cc and even a 125cc. But you still need training. R.I.P
@ameliekk
@ameliekk Жыл бұрын
Looking at his riding style it was more of an issue with him being afraid to lean the bike. Having smaller displacement is not gonna change anything if all he's doing is riding the legal speed limit and still wandering out of his lane. Instead of hitting twisty roads on your second ride out you should find an abandoned straight rode and practice leaning at low speeds by slaloming on the width of the road.

The very sad and PATHETIC part about all of this is that he did have training - his video about riding home from the dealership indicates that it was his first ride since taking the MSF course. Well let me tell you, if the MSF graduates people who can barely shift a bike, can't start out w/out stalling it, and ride in 6th gear at 30mph, then the MSF course is rubbish! A money-making scheme. You can't tell me they care about rider safety when they allow people w/practically non-existent skills to be licensed. Tully should never, ever have been on such a large bike. A 125cc bike would have suited him much better. Much more difficult to get into trouble that will easily kill you.

@@ameliekk He was riding way beyond the legal speed limit in many of his videos here. Very irresponsible, and sad to say - reckless - given his lack of skills.

I m really in shock with the comments!! I hope has some mistake, as the video was posted in 07/12. But if it is true, is like someone close was gone, as I was following his videos since he got this bike. So sad!

RIP my man, im a new rider i ride an mt 07 for everybody saying he should not start on a 650, thats not the problem, the problem is new riders after a few miles under the belt start to get very cofident and push it to the limits... If you are a new rider remember even if you can it doesn't mean you should, if you think you are going to fast is because you are, going wide 1 single time is what takes... Ride carefully guys the goal of every ride is getting home and then having fun

It looks to me why he isn’t leaning the bike far enough on turns, is that he isn’t pushing on the grip on the inside hand in the turns, but is pulling it in a little, the opposite of counter steering it is subtle but it is the reason he isn’t leaning enough.

Rip. I would caution restraint to anyone when riding any bike, especially on roads such as these. There's a time and a place for everything. Just take it to the circuit. It ain't worth it, just enjoy the journey ahead, not the finish line.

Ride within your ability and leave a margin of safety. Work on the fundamentals. At the pace of this video, you have ALMOST 0% chance of an accident if you are proficient on a bike. You can brake to a stop or swerve even when cornering at this speed. Although, I dont suggest anyone doing that, ride safe peeps.

Someone answered in an upper comment. I followed the channel since his firsts Z650 videos and seems he was very centered person and nothing crazy at all. Maybe he pushed his limmits too fast. I wish he had survived the crash to rethink that. Maybe this internet thing, calling this mid range displacement little monsters "beginner bikes" have some fault, too...

@@luiz576 agree in europe you can't ride bike 650cc with 68hp fresh of license they have better rules and regulations regarding vehicle unfortunately someone paid.price.of inexperience that very bad luck he didn't collide with any other vehicle just slide off road I guess R.I.P

@@luiz576 His crash was not related to how powerful the bike was. He could have done the same speed on a smaller bike. He crashed on a turn. The outcome wudnt have been different had he been on a ktm 390 or a ninja 400

@@SoulReaper599xx yes. But less power, displacement and weight tends to reduce the risk and severity of accidents. Even for the excitement of following a group with bigger bikes.
