Welcome to Jafffa Adventures where Jill and Terry take off for a half year trip through the remote regions of South Australia and Western Australia on a camping and 4WD odyssey. In this video we start the Canning Stock Route and begin our solo journey. Come join us!
If West Australia 4WD and off-road tracks, remote camping, and hiking are not on your bucket list, they should be!!

There's only 1 thing worse than corrugations.........& that's something smelling good in the travel buddy!! Yes, VKS737 is a radio club (I'm a member of Australian HF Touring Club which enables me to use my HF radio over 19 frequencies (incl. the RFDS) for $80per year other wise you need the minimum of a foundation Ham licence to transmit on HF. I also can make phone calls, text & plot GPS positions via it. Not a Sat phone but some old school tech that I love. There's something about the romance of radio even though I haven't used it much the last few years! Another great video, I've been looking forward to this series. All the tracks I want to do, the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sue, the Canning etc etc the missus just said, "well, pay off all your debts & lets GO!!!" (I wish!!) As usual, can't wait till next Friday, but all the relows are arriving from Qld & NSW for Christmas so it might have to wait. A Merry Christmas to you Terry & Jill & t also to the other Jaffa's we haven't seen in a bit, that make up some of your great videos. Catch you in the next one!! P.S. we always have fly nets for "Justin" (I guess you know him, Justin Case 🤣) Cheers!!

I’m glad you shared your musings about the HF radio, I know very little about the network. Have an amazing holiday break a Rod. The video release will be a little patchy over the next few weeks, so you may not even miss one. Thanks for riding shotgun with us on this trip mate, we sincerely appreciate it 👍😎

So remote. Geez those shots of the suspension going over the corrugations are scary. Doubt my arb suspension would handle that for long 😅

We have tried to get to Wiluna twice but haven't made it yet. You are brave doing the Canning on your own. I don't think I would try that but then our 90 series os 20 years old now :) The route - root thing is a bit odd. We say root for a journey but router for the internet connection box. All depends on what the ear is used to hearing I guess. You need a hat with a fly net on it for when those pesky critters get too numerous. Great video as always, very enjoyable.

Hi guys. I don't think we have Bustard birds in Australia. They are probably Bush Turkey's. Cheers.

This is what I found on the Google machine mate and the picture of them looks the same👍 The Australian Bustard lives on dry plains, grasslands and open woodlands, and they favour tussock and hummock grasslands. Occasionally they are seen in modified habitat areas such as farmlands and golf courses.

Thanks Carl, that’s very kind of you to say. Fuel economy is very consistent with my 200. Around 13 l/100km highway, 15 l/100km dirt, and 25 l/100km in soft sand. I don’t tow so cannot comment on that. Cheers 👍😎

On the sandy sections 25, dirt 15. Over the entire length it averaged around 23. Cheers
