Welcome to Jafffa Adventures where Jill and Terry take off for a half year trip through the remote regions of South Australia and Western Australia on a camping and 4WD odyssey. In this video we continue along the Canning Stock Route between Wells 16 and 19. We take in Lake Disappointment and the Diebel Hills, two not to be missed locations. Come join us!
If West Australia 4WD and off-road tracks, remote camping, and hiking are not on your bucket list, they should be!!
If you like overlanding, if you like remote unspoiled places, if you like 4WD action, if you like camping from your 4x4 then this is the place to be.

The drone footage of the camel’s was outstanding. How much fuel did you carry and how much did you use on the trip
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 5 ай бұрын
Thanks Harold, that’s very kind of you to say. The camels certainly were a compliant bunch so that helped😉. I carried 270 litres in the fuel tanks of the cruiser (90 litre main tank and 180 litre long ranger sub tank), plus I had a 20 litre jerrycan for insurance, brining the total to 290 litres. On the bottom half (Wiluna to Kunawiritji) we used 240 litres. Remember, we took a lot of side diversion tracks, so if we would have just stuck to the main CSR we would have used a lot less. I can’t recall what we used on the top half, but it was a lot less as it is a few hundred kilometres shorter.👍😎

I know date palms are pretty invasive but it is a shame that National Parks have to pull them all out. They are part of our history with tha Afghan cameleers planting them on the routes they once took through W.A.

Fantastic drone shots of the camels there Terry. The first two seemed used to having drones buzzing around them. Every time I see Durba Springs, I think to myself how I could quite happily just camp there for a few days or even a week or two (depending on food, water and beer (not necessarily in that order!). Were my eyes playing tricks or did I see a little bit of water in Lake Dp?
@JafffaAdventures

Thanks for the kind words, and again joining us on this journey. I must admit, the camels did seem a lot more tame than I was expecting. There was definitely water in Lake D, remnants from the cyclone earlier in the year I suspect. Cheers!

Hi Jill & Terry. You've most probably been asked this before but I have just subscribed to your channel. What special arrangements did you take to do this on your own and would you say that you would do it again and that the risks are manageable. Also, what time of the year did you go?. Thanks
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 5 ай бұрын
That’s a big question and one that has a very personal answer. 1. We have been 4WDing for 30 years, I know the capability of my vehicle, and myself. 2. We own a vehicle that is well looked after and mechanically sound. 3. I have a good understanding of mechanics and can fix most things that come my way. 4 We have a great sense of adventure and are not scared of being on our own. 5. We have an EPIRB, sat phone, AND Starlink should we encounter a problem that we cannot manage. So rolling all that together, yes I would absolutely do it again (and probably will this coming July which is the same time of year this trip was filmed at) as I firmly believe the risks are manageable in our circumstance. We took no special arrangements for the Canning over any of our other remote touring (we are very well set up). If any of the above numbered points are not true for you, the risk increases and only you can judge whether those risks are acceptable. Go well mate, and thanks for joining us 👍😎

Love your drone work. What model of drone do you use and how do you charge batterys
@JafffaAdventures
@JafffaAdventures 5 ай бұрын
Thanks Steve, that’s very kind of you to say. I use the Mavic 3.Classic. It’s got that ripper Hasselblad camera and shoots in 5.1K. It’s expensive but I love it. I have a 12v USB charger on board and just use that to charge the battery. Cheers👍😎
