This 4WD trip to the Zig Zag trail was done at the Watagan mountains on the Central Coast New South Wales Australia. It is classed as a hard difficulty track, with steep off-camber sections. We were descending, which feels even worse, but we'll need to go back and do it the other way around to compare the difference. The lineup included three solid axle 4WD vehicles:
• the red, twin locked, Toyota Land Cruiser LC80 on a 6" lift and 37" sticky Maxxis Trepador "competition compound" bias ply tires and beadlocked rims;
• the silver "monster truck" looking Nissan Patrol Y61, twin locked, on an 8" lift and 40" sticky Treps on Procomp alloy beadlocked rims;
• and the gold, twin locked, Toyota Land Cruiser LC80 on a 6" lift and 35" Toyo Open Country M/T tyres.
