never heard of trans issues even with supercharger (source?). But it is a good point, it is not designed from factory to have such torque going through it. ALL transmissions have a torque limit. I have read that Harrop truncate the torque in lower gears to de-stress the trans

it has always been the 1 loose nuts behind the steering wheel. The car has 90% of the torque at 1200 rpm. It never need 5000 rpm.

CoolLambo got it in one. If Nissan made a factory supercharged patrol, it would have a much stronger drivetrain to cope with the extra torque. You have to upgrade and engineer the whole vehicle as a package. Big tyres mean a much higher load on bearings, hubs, driveshafts etc....That DMW vehicle also has a chassis stretch and a monster GVM upgrade, that Patrol is under some serious stress on lots of factory components

@@thetravellingstamps that's the life of a patrol owner.... goes 4x4 trips, cuts down camp sites trees for fire wood pisses up all day does to min trip and calls it a day. Just do a trip to the mall for beer and leave the beach and tracks to actually users
