As your video progresses, every thirty seconds or so, I want to give a like 👍…. the scenery, the music, the editing, everything is beyond words. You guys are amazing, Africa is breathtaking and as a compatriot living abroad I can’t express how much I miss those sounds, the wild of Africa, the smells, the sound of thunder …. etc…Endless… You are living a true dream. Thank you guys ! And thanks for the great humor at times. By the way a huge 👍 for saving that bird stuck in the pipe … absolutely fantastic 😊

Hello Ryan, about the question you asked about Khwai, I live in Maun, and the thing is, attacks are rare, mostly the dangerous game and the people respect each others boundaries, but hyenas, hippos and elephants do make regular visits especially at night when there is no movement. There are those who are bold and can move about even at night, and to cap it off, the tribe that lives in Khwai is predominantly Basarwa or an offshoot of the San people called BaNoka or San people who live along the river instead of the desert is its always normally assumed, so just from their ancestry, they know how to live along wild animals.

great vid. But drinking cold water is actually bad for you if you are working in the heat or exerting yourself. The ice cold water shocks the system and takes longer to assimilate. The body needs to put in more energy to get that back to temp. Rather room temp water to keep hydrated.

Once again, I am completely enthralled by this. As someone in the screen production game your filming and editing is outstanding. Commentary is just right at the right moments and I like the way you let the pictures do the talking. Getting stuck shows the importance of traveling in a group when way out in the boondocks. You, Ed and Christoff take us along on your journey and I can't wait for Ed and Chris' version of this adventure. In April this year I was in Kruger and I hope to get back to S.A. in the next few weeks.

Ryan. We are planning to do similar trip June next year. We will be coming from Chobe to Linyanti, Savuti and then Khwai. We will be four vehicles and two cruisers will be towing off-road caravans. Seeing you getting stuck we are a bit concerned towing the caravans. In your opinion will it be possible with the thick sand towards Savuti? The plan is to let the single vehicles ride in front of the towing vehicles just in case they get stuck. Your advise please.

Man! Ryan, this production is next level. Loved it!! Your cinematography and storytelling is phenomenal. Some of the best footage I've watched for sure. On a side note... While in Botswana in May we spent a few nights at Xaxanaka camp in the Moremi. Our trip coincided with "the leopard incident" wherein the life of a leopard and a human were lost. Consequently, we now have a new found respect for the wild, and leopards inparticular, so to hear that a leopard came through your camp, is thrilling, but also very unsettling. We spent the remainder of our trip on very high alert as it seems you guys did too. Epic stuff!
@4x4ventures_southafrica
@4x4ventures_southafrica 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Neal. Yes, so that incident happened a week when we got back. It happens and is very very unfortunate. We are always on high alert mate, always. Complacency creeps in very very quickly when around a fire. People always reckon we have too many lights, but they are only there when needed and tbh, lights are a necessity in wild camps, as well as a good torch. Hyenas and leopards are very very opportunistic predators. Leopards . . . they have always worried me in wild camps, they are super efficient at hunting. Brilliant to be in such places, but, people need to kick complacency out the window when camping at these amazing spots. Thanks again bud

Hi Thabo, yes, a great trailer. I had to sell mine unfortunately 😕 look, with a 4x2 I would highly recommend a winch. 12500lbs winch. Look at Runva winch, ironman or if you have the bucks, a warn winch. Recovery gear is essential. I only use the WildDog 4x4 10ton recovery gear. Goodluck, and look at getting a 4x4 in the future, you will be confident. Cheers mate🤙

Howzit man. I just watched both of the episodes in this series so far, and I'm loving it. I've always loved the bush, and your videos have been so refreshing and interesting. I'm super keen to get out on the roads and in the bush myself. Keep it up man, can't wait for the next one. And congrats on 10k!

Love the videos. I'm planning a longer overland trip (~1 year) maybe in 2023/24. The original plan was to head to Africa, but I wasn't sure if it could keep me interested for that amount of time, and was considering doing the Pan American Highway or something instead. But I have to say, after watching your Botswana videos, I'm definitely thinking Africa again!

Howdy Geoff. Reason being that my better half is overly nervous regarding the predators, and with good reasons I reckon. My kids also have a healthy fear for what roams the campsites at night. Maybe in the future, and obviously I'd love for them to be on wild adventures with me. Cheers legend

Some world class videos here man! Watching this you forget that it's one guy doing all the video and editing! Feels like a whole crew doing it. My only experience of Botswana is going to Angola and using the Trans-Kalahari highway to get there. Didn't go off that road. Something I need to get to. Will take you up on the 50k offer :) Based in Pretoria.

Loved the vid of the adventures. When being pulled out of the sand, why was you bonnet up? 'Keep your chin up we will get there eventually is a great mindset' to have in a difficult situation.

Thank you Steve. Good question. 2 reasons, one to help with the engine dissipate heat better as it I a small engine, already under load and working harder with very hot conditions, but primarily as precautionary protection If the winch rope snaps under tension and slips through the recovery blanket. Hope this helps
