I’m not sure what your problem is, is it because the car doesn’t wanna go from a standstill or because the car shifts too early???
@sctrep5 жыл бұрын
The biggest problem was that it wouldn't downshift until I came to a complete stop and sometimes wouldn't downshift to 1st at all. Starting from a stop in second gear was very slow. It would also shift way to early on the 1-2 shift. I have since, rebuilt the transmission and now it drives much better.

Factory ecu. The explorers had the EEC-V, which is actually pretty good for a factory unit. I tune with SCT ADVANTAGE III SOFTWARE through a SCT X4. I am, however, wanting to switch to the new Holley Terminator x max. This way I can tune with input from my methanol injection and boost in one datalog. Dude rebuild your transmission and put a new torch converter when you can afford too. I used to own a 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition 4.0 liter V6 with a 4 speed 4r55e and the flexplates kept breaking in it. The last time I change the flexplate I bench pressed transmission with torch converter into place while my father put the bell housing bolts in. It can be done with a vehicle lift. I don't own the Ford Explorer I used to it left me stranded 53 miles east of Holbrook Arizona on the I-40. I did not have the money to have it towed and the flexplate changed out. It broke while was driving on a 8 % uphill grade. I didn't learn that the Pioneer Flexplates are not heat tempered and break easy until I was driving normal at about 15 mph in a 2000 Ford Escort SE that i bought after the loss of the Explorer. So I heat tempered, painted with VHT paint, Iinstalled it with a stainless steel spacer with lock tight V6 bolts and lock washers on them torched to spec. I wish I would have done on the Explorer but its to late now.

I'm using two walboro 450 fuel pumps, a set of out of the box AFR 205 heads, ford racing x303 camshaft, the bottom end is forged, block is the original block that came in it. The transmission is the stock trans aswell I just built it. Rear end is also stock but has good parts in it. When we had it on a dyno last year it made 673 wheel horse power.
