I have an M&P Shield..And I find if there is to much stuff in the main compartment it is really hard to get the gun out ..

Check the placement of your camera.... Missed a lot of your stuff.... Another thing, don't keep your gun in your bag. Terrible decision, if your bag is taken from you, now what?? Its gone. Your gauze, I understand your idea, but that will take care of a paper cut, that's about it.
