End to end and all of the peaks is difficult but climbing each peak individually is hard but not difficult. I'd say one of the biggest dangers of the hike is twisting an ankle in the back country. Cheers!

I have done this 3 times and all times I started at the end of Spruceton Road and walked along the West Kill River to Diamond Notch Falls then up Red, The Devil's Path. So I really could not comment on which is easier. It seems approaching from the west has a little bit more mileage but I don't know anything about the terrain difficulty from that direction. The way I take, is rugged and tough but only for about 2 miles, and nothing extremely difficult. Parking lots fill up early. @@jaytheurbanviking yea, I know about the parking lot…I’ve done the SW Hunter, Hunter, E Rusk and Rusk loop a couple of times. Need to go back and do West Kill. Thanks for the info! I just don’t know if I should loop West Kill ending with a 2+mile road walk or save the other side for a different day. Happy hiking!

@@jaytheurbanviking Ended up going this morning. Had the trail to myself at 7am. Next time I might try from the other side. Almost did a loop, but with the pending rain I wasn’t up for a 2.5 mile road walk.

@@ROMEKBNY Nice, did you go up via the WK River past the falls or over those other minor summits? I looked at the geo formation it looks like there's a fairly nice ridge along a couple of peaks from the west approach. I had planned to head up today also and hit Indian Head but I stayed out too late at a BBQ and ruined my plans. The rain may have kept me away anyway. Great that you got it done, it's a beautiful trail, one of my favs.

@@jaytheurbanviking The other way does go over one of the hundred highest, so I will have do it it one day. People said to save this mountain for a nicer day, but I wanted to do a solo hike of something I haven’t done yet. I just went the same way you did in the vid from the end of Spruceton. It’s a good thing I had Avenza and knew there was a view and sign, cause there are a couple of places you may think are the summit with the drops before Buck Ridge.
