Best barefoot sandals I ever had (for running, walking, daily use) are Earthrunners with the canvas footbed.

Earthrunners had mine 3 yrs been everywhere in them, even run in them sometimes. Sole looks like ill get another few years out of them. Worth the money. My wife is indo they have natural width feet because they seldom wear shoes, same goes for most of SE Asia

I got the xero genesys for house slippers and they've been fabulous. When I do have to do chores around the house, they've been pretty great once I got the adjustments dialed in. I also have a 5 year old pair of Shamma Chargers with the ultragrip sole and they've done miles and miles of hiking and errand running, get used for summer cycling on grippy mountain bike pedals, and have held up unbelievably well. They feel surprisingly thick for the 7mm stack height and shape to the foot really, really well. They've gripped wet rocks well during stream crossings and on rocky coastal areas. Very sharp gravel gets shrugged off and nothing has worn out fully yet. I saw info about Pyopp recently and will 100% try something from them, for a variety of reasons, but personally can't recommend shamma enough. The other thing is that I have a wide, high volume foot and they have and easy option for getting longer straps on their sandals for high volume feet. Strap length has been the one minor fit issue, though they've worked fine, and now having an option around that makes it an easy sell for me when they do eventually wear out.

i bought earth runners and xero genesis sandals this year and took them on my travels. Earth runners feel much more secure on my foot but have so much less flexibility and ground feel that i would like, genesis feel pretty cheaply made its true and i my feet dont feel that secure but the ground feel is amazing and the straps feel quite a bit more comfortable than the earth runners. I think shamma warriors would have been the best of both worlds with security, comfort and ground feel from what ive heard but to ship them to the UK as well as with tax they would have been about £130.

The Tracker’s 7mm total base + lugs. So far it’s my preferred trail shoe this summer, & I lived in Xero Z-trails for years. The strap system offers a perfectly dialed fit quickly, & the FG 2 sole is superb.

That’s cool to hear, also pretty nice not getting rocks and sticks wedged under your foot 😆. 7mm WITH lugs according to vivo (3mm base, 4mm lugs)

Finally, a video that showcases the Vivo Tracker Sandals. I've had my eye on them for a little while, but the steep price tag is a huge deterrent, especially for "sandals." Would love to see a full review on them!

It's because they include the shipping cost in the price shown. Shipping costs about the same whether you're buying Earth runners, Shamma, Xero shoes etc

Great video. You should check out a brand of trail running bare foot sandals called t-rockets. Handmade in South Africa. I love them.

I see someone has already mentioned T-Rockets. Another South African brand to check out is Venture Sandals. They’re only on Instagram for now. I own two pairs from both companies, but prefer my Venture Sandals due to the Vibram soles and classic huarache style lacing. Also own a pair of Shamma Warriors, but the thin sole makes it hard for technical trail running. So mostly wear them as casual sandals or for a few road runs now & then. Another recommendation, although I haven’t tried them is Chala Sandals. They’re the only other sandal company, besides Venture Sandals, I’ve seen that uses the Vibram Megalug megagrip outsoles. Honestly don’t know why more sandal companies don’t use these. Amazing grip, great wear and solid lugs. Anyway. Great video!

I also have the Vivo sandal, but I am not the biggest fan of them as they have that weird insole that gets smelly as soon as you wear them barefoot. Therefore I bought the Wildling Feather in april, ugly looking shoe but super comfortable. My girlfriend has the ones from xero that have the naboso insole build in and apparently they are also very good
@TheBarefootStrengthProject
@TheBarefootStrengthProject 16 күн бұрын
Have you ever tried wearing them without the insole? That’s my go to and I’ve found they take longer to stink up and are easier to get the smell out of in the washing machine. The feather is definitely an ugly duckling but a nice middle ground 🙌🏽

I've got to say, I still prefer my flip flops. I've made homemade huarache sandals, xero without toe post (Z Trail), Luna without wings and Bedrock. I just prefer those cheap 8-10mm firm eva flip flops that are flat (without the arch swell). I've been wearing barefoot shoes for about a year now and zero drop for a few but sandals with straps is something I've never been able to get into. I used Tevas and Chocos back in the day and didn't like those either. I could really go for a zero-drop leather flip flop with a Vibram mega grip outsole but something like that doesn't seem to exist. Yes, I know, they are not barefoot, and you have to grip with your toes and all that, but I am okay with it. I switched to zero drop for lateral arch pain and even flip flops keep it away. Now, I know I am not going to hike in them or run or ride bikes etc but personally I was never going to do that in sandals either. I am very clumsy, and it is a bad idea, lol. Anyway, if I had to stick with one it would be the Bedrocks. Easy on and off, no silly tech trap and doesn't slide off my ankle. But, like all sandals with heel straps I do get dirt and rocks under my feet, and I hate it. It happens with flip flops too but they shake out as soon as you lift your foot, lol. As an aside, I don't know why it took me this long to sub but I did. I need to check out more videos as I've enjoyed the ones that I have watched. Thank you for sharing your perspective with us. I for one apricate it.

Really want a wider sandal, hate my little toe being held in by current designed sandals (not the flip flop version) .. so was looking at version that uses the toe string.. but anything over 20/30 quid for what is basically a flip flop is a joke, not a funny one.

anything with a string between the big toe and lets call it index toe for lack of a better term , is horrible for your feet this is a proven fact . it pulls the big toe in adding to instability . you want to be able to spread the toes out .... not have something forcing you to keep the biggest toe and provider of balance scrunched in
