Humans used to go barefoot on grass and sand and soft or hard dirt. A proper purpose-made shoe is better than any barefoot shoe out there. Stop buying this barefoot crap, shoes are meant to protect your feed from hard surfaces. Get a decent pair of New Balance shoes and you are set for quite a while. Or better yet, get those knitted adidas runner shoes that look like socks. You people are unbelievable, promoting useless products for people that actually need better shoes.

VivoBarefoot's winter insole is actually nice extra cushioning. I have one pair of shoes with it, but will buy it for all the pairs eventually, as it is either rocky trails in my area or walking on the concrete.

What are the best vivobarefoot shoes for everyday like 12 hours plus on my feet?
@omnimetric84Күн бұрын
That’s how I did it: slowly worked up to it over time. Regular footwear still have their uses but now I use them 90% of the time. Oh, and I ignored my podiatrist’s advice to avoid them. I’ve no idea if he still has a practice since I’ve not needed him since the switch years ago.

4+ years wearing barefoot shoes. No more plantar fasciitis. I wear them for everything except long hikes on hard surfaces. For those, I add the flat support that are usually included with the shoes. I’m 62 and low-carb. Cheap water shoes from Walmart work just fine, too.

What about a person that has a very high arch, are barefoot shoes ok for that?
@supernova7433 күн бұрын
Barefoot shoes have a lot less structure. You need to wear them for a short time and build up to longer times. I knew a guy that bought shoes like this and and took them on a hike. He didnt make it half way and had to basically be carried on the way back. Obviously he had greater expectations than the shoe could provide.

Haven't watched the video entirely but the biggest issue I got after wearing them as my regular shoes were arch problems. I walk very fast and hard which I couldn't get out of me so I switched to some real good hiking boots which seem to work best for me. I have to say though the Vivobarefoot shoes I got (Primus Trail almost all year and Boots I can't find a model name on for winter) are great quality. The Primus sole was starting to get veeeery thin in places at almost 2 years walking like a maniac (I walk literally faster than everyone else I see on the street day to day and colleagues don't want to go to grab lunch with me during breaks because of it😂) but the "sock" part on top looks good as new still. Lasted a lot longer than expected.

I wear barefoot shoes maybe 70% of the time I wear shoes. Probably for 10 years now. I used to have knee problems, especially when preparing for half marathons. I don't have that any longer. I only "need" conventional shoes on my bike and when hiking in the mountains (running down a gravel field in vivo barefoots? Nah) or if winter here is really cold. Took me about half a year to switch walking style.
@SomaliSmuli3 күн бұрын
Please please please start slow in these. Short walks and increase carry weight little at a time, take rest days. In the long run you'll get where you want to be if you have patience and don't get injured.

I hate barefoot shoes. Ive tried a few (inc vivo trail shoes which i sent back last week after 3 months of failure). I like foot shaped shoes, i love wide toe boxes, but i also got to admit to myself that i love heavily cushioned shoes. I have 4e (extra wide) width feet. I have never found any barefoot shoes that are wide enough, they are all too narrow and rub the skin off my little toe. I over stride but i definitely heel strike in every step i walk and every step i run (with the exception of sprinting where i am on my tip toes all the time). Ive run and walked for a long time, i even did 6 months living in Oz & NZ in my 20s where i solely wore flip flops. These flip flops only still had more cushioning than vivo barefoot shoes. Anyhow im older and heavier now. A nice pair of Hoka in x wide or Nike Invincible 3 in 4e are what i wear. Got a pair of Altras to try next week but i can all bit guarantee they will not be wode enough for me.
@hyper_fn_al14593 күн бұрын
Durable enough for the track? Or is there a better suited barefoot shoe for sprinting? (Ideally one with spikes) This seems to have the most all-round stability (I can't stand my feet sliding as I sprint and turn hard corners).

I never want anything else than barefoot shoes. I've got the Vivobare RAII shoes. Love them. Walking on the for over a year now, every day. I have never felt any problems walking on them, not even in the first week. But I may have my achilles tendons to thank for that, since they're too short I've had problems walking heel-first anyway.

Well as a size 12 6E flat foot I cannot use flat foot wear I need orthopedic quality shoes although I walk around the house shoeless. My toes do not need to spread out anymore or they will be in another damn state! The biggest mistake you creators make is assuming whatever you are pushing is for everyone!

I graduated to sock shoes recently - I'm in love. It's mad how much it's improved my feet and legs in so little time. VivoBarefoot and FiveFingers are good. Sock shoes are the bomb. I would simply never quit. I had no idea it could get even better than VivoBarefoot and FiveFingers!

'bio degradable' does not mean that it will rot away if you stick it in the ground, it means it will degrade in a bio gas plant with high temperatures. This is a common misconseption but its really bad that people believe they can leave it in nature..

If you have a muscle disorder of the leg, I'd avoid barefoot. I never wear shoes but having paresthesia, I have to at least wear sandals or slides. I spend part of my life in the Caribbean. They don't wear athletic shoes or etc. It's always some sort of sandal. Feels natural. I can't imagine how they feel but walking in my foot shaped sandals feels natural. Shoes hurt after that. There is no overindulgence though due to the economics. 3rd world has little to no overeating. :-)

I'm always barefoot at home, I lift at home. First thing I do for each lift is create and stabilize strong lateral and longitudinal arches in my bare feet. For decades I've chosen shoes for roomy toes, minimal support and minimal drop. Sperry boat shoes and old-school zero drop basketball shoes are great. This is all paying off great as I age.
