@@bnbcraft6666 Well, construction CaHSR may be heavily sabotaged by the likes off the Kochs and Elon Musk, but at least is a totally new, necessary objective, as Cali air space and roads are chronically congested . Compare that with other infrastructure projects in USA. The make over budgets for airports for example (LAX and JFK start at $16-18bln each ! ). Or the $85bln Texas spends on yet more highways, creating more induced demand and congestion! And destroying 1000s of homes and business in the process (Houston destroys businesses employing over 25.000 people for more highway expansion !). And in Atlanta they transformed an existing, unused 22 mile rail corridor into the walking path Beltline , at the ridiculous sum of $4.8 bln ! That is per mile similar or more expensive than CaHSR !😅🙄😲 In the light of these projects CaHSR might (almost) be a bargain ! /s

Many people. Amtrak will have transit connections to LA and/or SF at both Merced and Bakersfield while the rest of the project is being finished

The only one worth mentioning is the high speed train. My God if this was China these projects would be completed in a year. We need to work on getting through red tape much faster.

Would be much easier if labor costed a fraction of a cent, and you could destroy houses that are in the way as personal property doesnt matter if its in the way of the “common prosperity”

True, putting aside the quality , China has built 36000km of high speed rail in 12 years. I mean, in general if you really want to finish something you will finish it fast, otherwise you will find any conceivable reason to NOT finish it.

California high speed fail. The should leave it to the German DB to do the job. Now they´re claiming that it can´t be finished within the next hundred years, due to the lack of working progress combined with missplanings of local contractors... Besides the massively rising costs...
