Great pick outs here Nicholas 💯 I believe Reading is not just enough". Take the action! Put your newfound knowledge to use. I read for a long time but Action made my life change in no time ( generally and mostly financially) That's my two cents on this

Thanks! I added all of the ones that I haven't read to my Libby. I just finished listening to "Essentialism". Great book, and I enjoy his accent and reading style Other books that I have listened to several times are "Atomic Habits" and "The Richest Man in Babylon". Every time I hear them I get something knew out if them. I think they should be mandatory reads. If people who are younger than me ask me for life advice, I tell then to read these books

These are great book suggestions! I have a couple of these on my list and gained a couple more I can add to look back on later. I too have a problem reading and sticking with it. I’m really hopeful that I will get some better habits. I do know that I have had to cut out ALOT of channels or random videos that’s didn’t seem to fit the plan. For the time being I need to keep my mind focused on videos that are aimed towards my goals. And of course, your channel is still one of them!

Nicholas, I enjoyed this review of the books that have been helpful to you. I would be interested in more videos like this. I have read Essentialism and recommend it to others. I am also aware of the Pareto principle and some of the meditations of Marcus Aurelius, however, I have added the related books and The Unfair Advantage to my future reading list. Currently, I am reading 'The Power of Fun: Why fun is the key to a happy and healthy life' by Catherine Price. It has an interesting chapter on technology and people's addictions to screens as well as some great advice on how to declutter and prioritise the important things in your life to make room for fun. The next book I want to read is 'The comfort Crisis: How to embrace discomfort to reclaim your wild, happy self' by Michael Easter.

Love this video! You're a great filmmaker--the aesthetic is so cool, and I love the little bits of absurd humor sprinkled in. These are great books, I've read them, except the last. Have you read my all-time, hands-down favorite book GOODBYE THINGS by Fumio Sasaki? I bet you would like it. He is a Japanese minimalist, and he is so honest about his life.

I literally spent the last 3 hrs just now journaling my ideas and a schedule to the first book u mentioned about putting my time and energy in priorites in my life and to set rules for myself and boundaries for others. I have always lived sporadically becuz of my ocd/anxiety and I am tired of doing it becuz I have not accomplished a single thing in my priorites. I am turning 30 nxt wk and want to carry this into my 30s

I have a hard time reading non-fiction, for in my head, they all say the same in different context. I enjoy stories that takes me away and drops me into fantasyland. I can’t do audiobooks either because I can’t focus or annotate the book. Essentialism got me into minimalism. I’m slowly reading the Psychology of Money by Morgan Housel and eyeballing The Comfort Crisis by Michael Easter.

"Rich Dad. Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki is probably the first non-fiction book for me (if you don't count textbooks in the university) and it has really changed me and the way I think. As someone who works at a library, I can tell you that the majority of my coworkers listen to audiobooks over reading print media...and it absolutely counts as reading a book! I just finished my 25th book of the year, and go between reading fiction (mostly fantasy), non fiction, poetry and graphic novels...that way I keep myself engaged in what I'm reading instead of getting stuck. I went through a period of only reading non fiction when I got into minimalism, but now I find it best to read everything. My book suggestion for is Voluntary Simplicity by Duane Elgin, it's such an amazing read, and it impacted me the most when I started simplifying my life.
