Great vid. I have a modified 2014 M135i and it's been totally reliable with only the fan causing an issue (replaced now). The n55 screaming through the revs never fails to put a smile on my face.

I had an A45 and can honestly say it’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a car. Decatted it too and took it to 440 hp. It spat flames like nothing 😂

You should do a video for top 10 unique cars that are cheap on insurance this is because I feel that a fair amount of young petrol heads want something interesting yes this may be more expensive but more interesting than a typical hatch. It would be interesting to see if any coupes or convertibles are an option as a young drive. Great video as always keep it up❤️

ric4397 yeah but you’re 26 mate, the original comment said young drivers and you will have been on the road about 8 years now so obviously insurance is a lot less. Anyway I’m sure your mx5 is nice and of course it’s a great car but there is no point in putting that in a video. Anyone watching this channel will already know about the mx5 and it’s not a very unique car because it’s so common.

Great vid, I was in a similar market last year after selling my mk1 MX-5 for something practical I ended up going for a single owner M135i with just 17k on it and FSH from a BMW dealer.... Tried the S3 and Golf R and though they are subjectively faster on paper they felt less engaging to drive at any speed (all 3 were automatics). The MX-5 was still the most fun without getting points on your licence. Remap potential on all 3 is insane though, MCM did some engine mods on a Golf R and it was faster than so much on a drag strip. Something like 3s to reach 60mph!

@@CarsWithJB I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss my Mk1 import G-Ltd (both get ~20mpg hooning them!), thankfully the place I sold it to restored it and someone else enjoys it now. Look forward to seeing more videos on your MX-5 and your dad's Pug, brings back memories of getting into WRC, meeting McRae when they did Forest stages in the North East

Some of the S3's in your video were the 310bhp 2017 cars especially with the upgraded dash screen. Later car 4.5sec or less to 60 mph.

I own a built sti hatchback and it would leave all those cars in the dust turbo lag about 2 to 3 seconds but when that boost kicks in omg I find Japanese cars driving experience is more savage and something you will never forget!!

Technically if you get the right year Audi S3 8V you get an extra +10HP over the Golf and same power as the 2020 S3 lol If going for it, or Golf, need to make sure to grab the pre particle filter model though.

Ive got a vid way back on my channel of my mates old 2014 135i which had a berk racing axle back exaust. Sadly he dosent have the car anymore as both turbo oil seals failed, and the cost of getting 2 new turbos meant he had to sell the car after the work was done as he needed that money he spent back ☹️.

Just so you know, the Golf R copied the S3, not the other way around. The S3 8p was the first with a high powered 2.0L turbo engine (EA113 BHZ). The TFSi engine first appeared in an A3 8p 2.0T in about 2003/4. The S3 8p was released in late 2006, the first Golf R (mk6) in 2010 which took everything from the S3 apart from interior and body shell. The Golf equivalent in 2006/7 was the R32 mk5.

Favourite hatchback is easy for me: 306 GTi-6. The most fun it's possible to have in a car (see the channel Camber and Combustion for proof!). Those economy figures for the Golf/S3 have to be US right? 29 on the motorway is 15 less than my Porsche gets...from this list I'll take the M135i though. It's the best sounding, most fun car and doesn't have the Mercedes interior which has the screen stuck on the dash looking literally the worst it could possibly look. It's my most hated feature in any car. Also video idea- rally special editions! Perhaps weird ones like the Saab 9-3 Carlsson?

Great video mate. I actually put a deposit down for a 2017 a45 AMG but got a refund after the test drive lol. Gearbox is shit and interior is outdated. Went for the mk7.5 golf r 20 plate instead and I am absolutely loving it! Currently stage1 and beat a stock FL RS3.

My personal favorite is the 2005 210hp 6 speed manual Acura RSX-S. I bought mine new in 05 and have almost 250k miles on it. Perfect blend of fun to drive but super practical low maintenance.

@@incognito96 tbh..hot hatched will all be expensive ngl, and the MK3 had some aggressive power when compared to say Golf R. Of course interior is a let down but personally Megane RS and Focus RS are the top hatches. Just that the Ford feels a bit more rear drive biased

I had the Golf R and now have the S3 and they are world apart in the quality of interia and exterior finish...

@@BOSKILLZX That's only my opinion after owning both cars and I still own the S3. Nothing wrong with the R as it has the same platform as the S3, but you can see why the S3 is more expensive.

All of these cars in Germany u can put at least 10k on top to get a "cheap" one if u are lucky, a good one makes another 5k on top ao basicly u can count 20-30k
