What are you top 5 Units for the Synaptic Nexus Detachment for the Tyranids, have the changes in the latest Dataslate brought the Nids upto a good place?!

Some other units for synaptic nexus to think about. Genestealers w/ Broodlord is now a synaptic unit so some strats help. Hormagants love the imperatives and now come with strength 4 flavour Norn emessary loves the rules buffs in general, strats make it more flexible. Screamer killers and neurolictors for their battleshock and strats.

All good shouts! I love stealers and they nearly replaced the Warriors in this list, and Hormagaunts and Screamer Killers especially work great with the new changes too!

@@TheSixMachine I think especifically in Synaptic warriors are better because they get so much more out of imperatives (GS already hit on 2s and have a 5+ invuln), and spread synapse wider. GS are probably better in invasion and vanguard because they have no innate sustained hits and are better at alpha striking.

Zoanthropes being lead by a Neurotyrant are a monster unit. They can shoot in melee!

I've been having a blast with Synaptic Nexus in Pariah Nexus, a lot came together to make this playstyle fantastic right now

Yep that's the plan! Going through each of the various Detachments and picking out 5 (or maybe 6 now...!) Units that I think work well in them! :)

Feels like a missed opertunity to have the Six Machines top six.... Mine are defiantly nurotyrant with zoanthropes, hive tyrants, maliceptors, and parysite of mortrex.

Hot take: melee warriors are overhyped. Broodlord plus 10 genestealers is way more violent. Broodlord is a synapse creature now too.

Oh I absolutely agree on Genestealers with a Broodlord being fantastic too I really did want to include them, I think both have a place and I'll be honest I haven't done a full run down on mathhammer with 10 stealers and a broodlord vs 6 warriors and a prime, but I think both can definitely earn their keep. I just personally prefer to look of Warriors to stealers so maybe I'm a bit biased! :D

In what rules update did they change the Hive Tyrant's 0 CP stratagem to -1 CP? I cannot find it anywhere.

It's on the official website for rules changes :) any army which had a unit that allowed for a free strat is now -1 cp to strats. So 1cp strats are still free but it prevents players from abusing the rule and getting 2cp strats for free
