2018 S3 7speed dsg bone stock - 2 years of data 25-28mpg winter 27-36mph summer Intake, TIP mods brought me down 4mpg from stock, but when I added my intercooler I bumped way up to 27 -31 in winter. No summer data. Stage 1 tune has me at 20-22mph in winter now...
@DArias
@DArias 2 жыл бұрын
The 7 speed I would assume gets a little better MPGs due to extra gear. And yep once that tune happens it’s all over lol😂. My longest drive with the car was when I went to the track the last time was about 2 hour drive and a little over 100 miles. I didn’t see over 25mpgs. 0 boost and completely all highway with 0 traffic 65-70mph the entire way lol

@@DArias I find that 65mph is the sweet spot for mpg. I've driven my share of 4-6hr drives (commuting and rallys). When stock I'll hit 36mpg on warm summer day doing 65 and a 400mile range. I did around 20-22 rallying when stock. We'll see what this summer looks like. I'm expecting 16-18 for rally mpg. 7 speed makes the difference.

- I get about 300 miles on my S3 8V. It has stage 1+ tune with 393 hp. I'm in europe and run E5/98 super. Mostly short drives. - Trunk is small. Because of the quattro. My A3 8L use to fit 8 cases of beer. My 8P fitted 5. In my S3 8v sportback I can only fit 4. - My stage1+ tune and DSG tune was €750. - Fluids I order Castrol online. You get "50%" off on most sites. - I like my DSG. It's quick :D 4.1s 0-62mph. - I love the Sportback(hatch) look.

Nice man!! I think it’s something is this crappy US fuel 😂😂😂. Trust me if we had the sport back in the US I would have absolutely bought one but unfortunately us here in the states never get the cool cars! Also who are you tuned by? Here the best tuners are great but def not very cheap

The S3 hatch is phenomenal. Luxury, practicality, performance. The only issue is that it's a really niche audience. Especially in the price segment. A lot of people want CUVs they'd prefer to pay a little less for a lot more.

I live in the city and get about 300 miles on a tank. So I avg about 21.5 mpg. That's not bad for a 370 hp car (stage 1). On a highway trip I avg about 28 mpg going 70-90 mph. Mobile definitely gives you better mpg over cheap gas. Your rear spoiler doesn't help your mpg.

Biggest thing I agree with is the no hatch. Some people need the extra room and it would be a good option for most. Also can’t forget as silly as it sounds some people prefer to say they own an Audi over the vw even though the car is identical
@DArias
@DArias 2 жыл бұрын
I would have bought the sport back without question if we had it here. And I feel that’s a reason I got the Audi just because even though it’s the same car I’ve never had one. Although the advantage of the R is mod for mod is faster than the s3 because it’s lighter

So I really wanted the s3 but ended up going R because of the manual. Unfortunately once I tuned the car the clutch couldn’t hold and had to drop $3k plus for clutch and install so I wish I just got the DSG from the start because so many people over 500ntorque and no problems

@DArias
@DArias 2 жыл бұрын
Sooo in todays market that’s not a terrible deal. Maybe a bit high by $2-$3k. Only issue is the way the market is, it’s hard to project where it’s going. We don’t know if it’s gonna come back down stay the same or go back up. So if you’re sit maybe prices get worse if not maybe it gets better. It really depends if you’re ready to buy I’d go for it tbh. Take the risk because everything rn is so unknown

Yeah the a4 imo wouldn’t be as fun as the s3. The s3 has so many more tuning capabilities etc. it’s a tough market rn because no one knows the direction it’s going in.
