The Yu-Gi-Oh! Anime is no stranger to crazy effects since it doesn't need to constrain itself to the actual TCG's rules. That's why there's some cards with some absurd effects. In this video, I showcase a few of them.

Well one option is armed ninja It says no normal or special summon but that does not effect normal set (unless there is another mountain of "not written or mentioned rules of card" like anime Ra)

The duel writers in Arc-V did not give a single fuck, Beastborg Medal is only one of MANY cards they made that were floodgates that just say, "Your opponent can't do anything."

Ivy Bind Castle comes into mind as another such card. Oh sure, a one-sided Imperial Order + Royal Decree + Skill Drain + permanent Swords of Revealing Light, and let's throw a pretty hefty burn effect on it as well because why not? Totally balanced, right?

Makes it worse that the show paints him as a dueling genius and therefore so unbeatable. Yeah, I be an unbeatable master too if I had cards that might as well just say "screw you, you can't do anything. Plot armor....I win". @@_Vengeance_

If I am not mistaken, you can still normal set a monster under medal, and you can still use monster effects, so a set Ryko for example can out it

Also, Cemetery Change could only exist maybe in digital form because if it was printed, Oh Boy, the percentage of people stealing cards would SKYROCKET. This already happens sometimes, but this could literally like make them basically steal half your deck (even by accodent if you are playing the mirror or something).

"Phantom" Monster would be a cool new mechanic/card type tbh. Like think vengeful spirit vibes, They'd be like exclusively graveyard effects that revolve around "Reincarnating/Rsssurection" and "Possesion". They'd be like spirit monsters but instead of going back into the hand they'd be banished at the end of the turn where ever they are in the board. It'd be a cool concept tbh, it also would fit in with a Bakura deck remaster and have them interact with destiny board and necrofade.

Oh hey, weird fun fact. Years ago for funsies I used the old "send an email to get a rulings question answered" thing (don't know if it's still up or counts anymore), but I asked a hypothetical "what would happen if you had 1 LP and used a pay half your LP cost". First they asked how I would ever have 1 LP, but to their credit went with the effect couldn't be activated because you couldn't pay half an LP. So with that in mind Infernity Zero wouldn't let you use Solemn Judgment for free cause you can't pay half of zero.

You could also pop Medal with Blaster since he activates in hand without needing to be summoned or you could just chain like an MST to it and problem solved.

Cursed twin dolls can just be changed into putting a counter on itself for every monster in your graveyard, along with its other effects affecting the player. Eldlich can also out the beastborg card

Also worth noting is that Yuya still lost the duel anyway, Sergey's interference just got Barrett out of the picture. :p Still, that card is BONKERS. And there's another insane floodgate later on in Arc-V - Yuri's Ivy Bind Castle that he uses against Yusho. (Yusho outs it quite casually though, so it's less intimidating as a result despite its effect being completely unreasonable.) I found it interesting that Infernity Zero was actually used in a game. The moment it came out in that duel, I was immediately like, "Yeah, there's no way that card could ever actually be used." Apparently I was wrong!

Yeah, when the anime has someone who's prime gimmick was an FTK, you can count on the writers to come up with some BS card to out it. Probably not the best idea to show people you can break the game like that, whether or not if it's possible or consistent.

@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 FTKs break the game as in a game that's based around the opposing cards interacting with eachother, having one player lose without having any opportunity to cause an action leads to it becoming battle of the die roll to see who goes first with the actual card game not mattering. This is why they usually go nuclear on FTK enablers. As for infernity zero's effect, now there's plenty of reasons to why it would be a ruling nightmare that there's a Reason why they can't print it. It may look simple but that's because the writers have control of which cards each person has and not actively trying to break a rule changing effect like that. Which is why every effect that prevents you losing like that is either changed to not do that or not be printed.

I would love to see Infernity Zero, just with a fix like "If an effect that would make your LP 0 is activated, you can special summon this card from your hand and if you do, your LP become 1 and you change damage from this effect 0" It would be fun, we already have a trap that works with 10HP

Manga cards are even more OP, like manga kalin's entire manga deck. İt has a combo where you have 0lp and have void ogre dragon on the field that cant be destroyed, if it leaves the field without beign destroyed you cant lose the duel i, and it can attack directly. Also you cannot draw cards (which is pretty good since he plays infernitys and drawing a card makes him lose the duel while doing that combo)

@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 LMAO go read the manga. Kalin uses a combo based around void ogre dragon and that combo is op. And irl void ogre dragon is not a bad card and it sees plays in infernity decks.

For cursed twins they could print it as a two sided gamble card, something along the lines of "your opponent tossed a coin: if heads; apply effect (1), if tails; apply effect (2). The effect that wasn't applied to the opponent is applied to you instead". As for the phantom monsters part, that can also be easily adapted, maybe place "phantom counters" on the card each time a monster is sent from the field to the GY; that way you can have the other card work off of the counters instead of the no. of monsters you "control"

There's also that one field spell from the Yugioh R manga that converts levels into life stars that gets subtracted by 1 on each turn, and if your monster has no more stars it dissolves into thin air. It's somehow giving Perish Song vibes from Pokemon, but what's interesting is it should effectively work as boardwipe against Xyz and Links because they don't have levels.

I'd imagine if Cursed twin was printed the effect would be flip a coin if the opponent calls it right they get the lp effect and you get the other effect which would be changed to banish your GY and all cards sent from the hand or field get banished, and you'd get the mill protection effect. If the opponent calls the coin flip wrong then the vice versa effect happens.

Hm. It bugs me that Chaos End Ruler needs a Dark Fiend to be summoned, alongside a Light Warrior. I feel like a Dark Dragon would be more fitting, as it seems to be a reference to both BLS and Chaos Emperor Dragon.

For Cursed Twin Dolls: It's basically (only the second half): - Remove all Spell and Trap cards from your graveyard - Cards cannot be send to your graveyard (destroyed cards are banished in such cases) - Monsters in your graveyard are unaffected by effects and are negated themselves - Cards and Effects that count the number of monsters on the field treat monsters in your graveyard as in your main monsterzone

You can't even Trap Eater Beastborg for the exact same reason as Kaiju's. It's attempting to do something that cannot be done. There are cards though that can out it. Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos can out it though with the fire discard effect, since it targets 1 card to pop it

Cemetary Change would not only lead to ruling nightmares for judges, but honestly quite a lot of theft and/or 'accidental' stealing of people's cards and yours. Then you'll have a real-life legal nightmare. I honestly think the ONLY way this card might be able to be a real card is if the effect lasted till the END of the turn. Even then I am sure the possible broken combos you could pull with it might just then get sent on the ban list permanently.

6:10: Fun fact; In my fanmade Yugioh comic series, the protagonist’s first loss occurred because his opponent used Cemetery Change to turn his own Deck (specifically the Graveyard) against him.

Well since it's a fictional card it's not relevant but I'm pretty sure Trap eater won't work. For example you can't use trap eater against vanities emptiness because it prohibits you from starting a special summon in the first place. It's all a question of wording: Trap eater does not say: send a face up trap to the graveyard THEN special summonen trap eater it says must be special summoned BY sending. But you are not allowed to special summon in the first place. If the medal says that all special summons are negated it would work but not if it says you can't do it! But since you can still normal set that's the solution. Penguin soldier or old vindictive to get rid of his monster via flipp effect or use trap master.

8:04 Beastborg Medal says "the controller can't normal or special summon", so Trap Eater CAN'T be summoned in this case. It's irrelevant that Trap Eater can get rid of traps with its summon condition cause the trap card doesn't let you summon it in the first place BUT the player can TRIBUTE SET to get rid of the monster, since it doesn't count as a summon. Also, since it can only target a monster from the extra deck, most likely than not it will have an effect that deals with the trap, cause it doesn't negate any monster effects.

I gotta say, coming from a background in both early YGO and MTG, having a bunch of "Phantom" cards sitting in play faux-bypassing the 5-6 monster restriction of creatures in play feels like it'd be frankly, kind of obscene? I mean I'm not an expert but as a dude who's played Open the Vaults/Living End/Living Death/four different Lilianas, being able to count your graveyard for effects sounds... uh, gross (in the sickest, raddest possible way).

For the beastborg card, it says nothing about setting a monster or flip summons.

I think you can out beastborg medal (and ivy castle) with Eldlich’s hand effect since it’s completely separate from the summoning condition and activates in the hand. There might be other monsters with removal effects that activate in the hand but I can’t remember any off the top of my head

Underworld Circle used by Yugi in the original anime is as broken as can be. It destroys AND removes monsters in the deck from play at no cost. RIP 2nd turn players.

Metal can be outed by Electric Virus, Simply Discard the card, take control of Barrett’s Beastborg Fusion Monster Since it’s a machine. With no Beastborg Monster(s) on the field, metal immediately gets destroyed freeing Yuya’s Dragons to OTK Barrett and maybe Even disrespect him with his own monster attacking him 😂. Also it’s not too hard to assume that Yuya might actually have teched this card in his Deck as Far back as his 1st duel with Sawatari. When he was given a shitty set of cards to play against Sawatari and still beat him. Plus the card is a perfect counter to obelisk force and other dimensional dragons counterparts because Yaya can just take control of them with a simple discard. 😂

Now can you make a video about what deck would you use if you would be sent to yugioh anime Rules are cards have anime effects You cant use ra (since you dont have millennium iteam) Characters have ability to draw any card they want out of their deck and anime "generic" cards (look at kaiba briefcase etc) Some will do bullshit shenanigans like pegasus, marik, satorus, ishizu, whatever yuya did with action duels And others rules that I forgot but you know happend in anime
