Great video as always! I completely agree the current credit system is flawed, but at what cost is this going to be to fix it. For one, like others have posted what government system has ever been smooth and without flaw. This sounds more like less privacy of individual finance. Bank account info and payment history being directly shared to the government. They already know what is reported on end of year taxes. This would allow knowledge of how that money is spent as well. For most people that may not matter but it’s still something to think about. At the end of the day, it’s what it’s. Freedom is far from being free in today’s time. This might make it easier for younger people to get credit they deserve. At the same time giving more credit then someone is accustom to can create problems that could be avoided as well. Because I was in the same situation where my score denied me from great position but I have no worries when I met Hackergold02 on I-g..

My dad has two credit cards and both of them are between 600-620, so I have decided to help him. I currently started learning how credit works and now I understand that it’s very important to have a good credit score in the US. I’m now trying to get a higher limit (currently 500) and teach my dad how we need to get it up.

800+ hack: Utilization is a huge factor. No matter what your limit, keep it under 20% utilization at all times. Pay it in full by the due date. If you have more than one cc, make sure most of them are at zero balance and rotate using each, ensuring that only one or two have balances each month. Don't rack up those inquiries. You don't need more than two or three credit cards in order to have flexibility and use the above hacks to get and keep your 800+ credit score. By the way the above won't work if you don't have a grip on your spending so be sure to have a budget in place prior. Live simple.

Nice video!! The dispute method also works but takes months or years before the credit Agency replies, I tried several times only about two was cleared. I used Credit streamers in clearing my collections and he said exactly the same thing about the collectors not having any proof and his method worked and I have been gaining points ever since. Kept working with this repair company for 2 months, gained about 220 points on my credit score with several collections cleared. I believe there are several ways to fix a bad credit.

Fortunately in most Commonwealth countries pulling your credit score for renting or hiring is not allowed, as you are not GRANTING CREDIT IN LAW. iN THE USA you can't take a pee pee without your credit being checked. That should be changed, especially when so many real estate THIRD PARTIES want access to your credit score. That's even illegal in the USA but businesses try to get away with it. It's actually against Credit Bureau membership rules, but does not seem to be enforced.

I doubt he's "broke" he's simply paying principle and interests payments up the ass that's why he may claim to be broke. He probably has a ton of outstanding credit card balance, and a hefty car payment. His lifestyle is likely financed in other words. If that's the case he should stick to a budget and eliminate unnecessary expenses. His score will continue to be great but he will also have more cash flow at the end of the month to build up a healthy nest egg.

Great info. I’ve learned from Dave Ramsey to also Not Pay Utilities on Credit Cards because the CC Companies see you as irresponsible of not knowing how to handle your finances. So he recommends you pay those by cash (debit cards, money orders, or cash). Basically you depend on a CC to pay your month to month bills which makes you look bad. That’s including cable and cell phone bills.

I took $500 and put it in a cd. Then used that cd as collateral for $500 loan. Then took the $500 loan proceeds and put it in a checking account where the bank automatically withdrew the monthly payment for me until the loan was paid off. I did this twice to boost my score but you can do it as many times as needed.

Hi Ms P. According to FICO, it can take as much as five years to rebuild your credit score after a deed in lieu. The Mark can take as long as seven years to drop off your credit report. You can try to dispute it after a few years to get it removed but it doesn't usually get taken off.

@@aldoogie824 The problem I see is you are still falling into the trap of using and adding credit cards when you apply for a new one. Having a non-cc debt as opposed to all cc debt is a good direction and reflects better on your credit report. It is best to get away from acquiring debt using ccs. Live by the mantra, if you need a CC to pay for something, you probably can't afford it. I am only speaking from my experience.

I'm a Dave Ramsey fan, who says having a credit score doesn't matter. This might be true if you don't have a score at all, but having a bad score is way worse. As long as I have loans out, I'll have a credit score, and it'll be a while before I finish paying everything off...in the meantime I'd like to up my score as much as possible - without actually going further into debt. Thanks for sharing!
@josephhogue

Thanks Rachael. Yeah, I like most of Dave's advice but some of it is way off (especially the investing advice). Avoiding debt completely just isn't realistic for a lot of people and can hurt them if they never build up a credit score for when they need it. Thanks for watching, hope it helps increase your credit score.

I wish I could close my Amex Gold card which charges me a fee every year , a fee with perks and services I really do not use. If you'r wondering why did I get it, well I was very young and knew very little about credit cards then. They accepted my request right away and off I went. Now , since I do pay a fee on that card and I've had it for such a long time, it is one of my most used cards and oldest credit history cards. So closing it at this point will most likely hurt me a great deal, but I sure wish I could close it to not have any yearly fees . My credit is excellent as it is, so I don't know if closing it will even matter much to my credit score just my history. Your thoughts/ what woould you do?
@josephhogue
@josephhogue 5 жыл бұрын
Great question and one I struggled with on an American Airlines citi card. In your case, I'd say close it but try to do it at least six months before you'll need to use your credit. Your score should have pretty much rebounded by then. Another option is to call and tell them you're going to cancel unless they waive the fee (might not work every year but should get you at least one year). No reason to pay annual fees to a credit card.

What I meant was who is providing it to you. Very likely you're not paying TransUnion to get your score. It's more likely that you're getting it from something like CreditKarma or a free service from a credit card like Discover. That being the case, you're not getting the version of FICO that lenders use but rather the more generous version that virtually no lender or creditor uses. You do realize that are many different versions of FICO, not just one. There are also other credit scores that are not FICO at all, just in the same general range as a FICO score, which can easily be mistaken for a FICO score, and again, which aren't used by any lenders. Those scores get their data from the same three credit bureaus (i.e. TransUnion, etc.) but use very different formulas to come up with a score. A 19-year old is not likely to have a FICO score of 738. Not the real, lender version anyway.

Getting any account closed will lower your average age of accounts. One account getting closed isn't too big a deal unless it's your only account so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Debt collectors will not only NOT remove the derogatory entry from your credit file - *even if you pay off the debt* - each time you contact them about it they reset the date of the entry, which means it's like a brand new stain on your credit that'll stick around for *7 years from that date.* And as far as your credit score is concerned, the difference between a paid off stain and an unpaid stain is tiny. Both kinds will impact your score about the same amount. But the biggest mistake you can make is to contact a debt collector to either discuss payment or beg them to remove the entry from your credit. All you do is screw yourself in the process.

This! This is what most debt free gurus don't understand. If you close your accounts or just don't use them, they drop off your credit report. That lowers the 'average age of credit' on your report and destroys your FICO score. Good luck getting a loan or anything after that.

My biggest barrier to high credit was always length of credit history. Thankfully, I'm now 10 years out of college and have built up my history, so my score finally broke through to the 800s. I've always been sure to keep that oldest card in good standing.
@josephhogue

Totally Stefanie. I've always thought the credit scores were a little unfair to younger people, like FICO should have something that calculates credit scores differently by age. Seeing the credit score from a specific bureau isn't quite as important as seeing the credit report from each. Your score at each of the three bureaus will be about the same, especially if the stuff on each report matches up. Experian is notorious for making it impossible to see your score. Most credit cards that offer a free look at your FICO use TransUnion. I would focus on finding your score from one of the others and getting your credit reports from each.

I have been renting and this is so much cost on me so I decided to look for a means to fix my credit so I can get approved for a car loan. Also that the identity of each company by trade name and contact information is provided.My written authorization may not be required to constitute permissible purpose, so if I believe that an inquiry was made without permissible purpose, I need to contact the creditor directly." Something with this letter doesn't add up to me. A lot of people were successful removing multiple hard inquiries from their credit report. This letter is a "brush-off" type of letter. Unless I'm wrong.

Definitely sounds like a template letter. It might be the one they send out first to see if you send another and then they get serious. By law, they have to investigate any disputes on your report.

@@josephhogue After thinking about this... I'm ashamed to admit that I realized what a dumb mistake I made. I need to send the hard inquiry removal request to the Creditor FIRST...not the Credit Bureau (in this case TransUnion). I sincerely apologize. P.S.: I wish I could be wrong.

What if our credit score is too low for a personal loan ? To consolidate credit
@josephhogue
@josephhogue 5 жыл бұрын
Definitely a tough one. I was able to get a consolidation at 560 and barely squeaked in. Might be able to get approved for a lower amount and shorter-term (usually easier to get). Pay off that first loan and it's easier to get a larger loan for longer even on lower credit.

Why does my fico score, and trans union have a different score what does it mean when one is way higher then the other ?

Creditors don't report to every bureau so you might have some loans or credit reporting only to one. Your three scores from the credit bureaus should be pretty close but they'll rarely be exactly the same.

I have been in my same residence 23 years,I when I requested my credit report I saw an address that I’ve never lived in. After I dispute this will my credit rise?

Probably not if it was just a wrong address. Doesn't hurt/help your credit unless there are judgments on the address against you.

I think he knows that. I think he was comparing a 100% utilization person to a 50% utilization person and how a lower utilization would look to a creditor in general and not specifically whether 50% utilization is objectively good or not.

I made my credit jump up 199 points up in a month from 514 to 713 then to 760 the following month. It’s pretty simple. Just find someone with a high credit card $50,000+ with less than 10% used and have them add you to the card as a user.

I did use the services of a programmer and analyst called Royson Brandon from Credit Master Fix LLC to get rid of student loan, debts, bankruptcy and hard inquiries off my credit report and my score was also boosted to 790+ within a short period of time. You can get to him via [Royson@creditmasterfixllc.com] if you're in need of any credit help or advice.
