That will only occur if Ukraine surrenders to Russia and submits to a Russian yoke. The Ukrainians knows what awaits them if they submit: genocide of Holodomor (~1932) that killed millions of Ukrainians and in 2022 in places such as Bucha, Hostomel, and Izium where there are mass graves of those that show evidence of torture and worse.

@@milestailprower I agree they shouldn't have. But that doesn't change the fact that when you fight (or are forced to fight in most cases by now), you often die. And sending bombs and missiles to places so they can be used will lead to deaths on both sides.

@@siddhartha_1 This is a war Putin started, and it's a war he could stop. However, Putin's "peace deals" include unreasonable demands - like the disarmament of Ukraine, and Russia keeping all the territory they have illegally taken since the invasion. Does Putin Putin does not see Ukraine as a real country. Like it or not, Ukraine will keep fighting with or without our aid. It is not our decision to be made. It's Ukraine's decsion. What do you tell the millions of Ukrainians who's homes were illegally taken away from them? What do you tell the Ukrainians who's homes have been bombed in the name of Russian conquest? During WWII, what do you think would have happened if everyone just gave into German demands? Even if Putin was in a good faith position to negotiate peace, it is better to negotiate in a position of strength. It's obvious Putin doesn't care about the humanitarian catastrophe as a result of his invasion, and the primary langauge spoken by the Russian leadership is the language of strength. If Putin thinks "I have more to lose by not withdrawing", then he would come to the negotiating table with a proposal the Ukrainians would be willing to accept.
