It is a wonderful study, why do you think accelerated urbanization has generated population structure that is so old?

I stuff it Peter!!!! but I will always remember the worst geopolitical analyst in our USA. YOU. You should be ashamed with your HATE and getting so many things wrong. No only in the USA but your stupidities grow bigger with China, Russia and Europe. Shame on you.

Agree with the geographical analysis and perspectives, but not so sure if Peter understands the importance of history. Mao was purging the system like no other, yet the system corrected itself, or you can say that it survived with Deng and others in decades came after... so, I'm not too sure about your conclusion, but the approach is somewhat reasonable.

What's been described here, seems frankly beyond the ken of the new government - not least as it would be fundamentally opposed to their underlying ideology ro align more closely with the US - especially as US led my Trump.....

Hi love your work, but you really con fused me when you suggested Japan has a greater naval global reach than Japan. Not sure how you came to that conclusion, do you mean replenishment at sea or in terms of friendly naval bases, or even merchant cargo? Confused on your assertion here.

Hey Peter.. I think you're still correct.... Trump even after today is gonna lose bc "of course....there are more registered Democrats than Republicans "... That is so obtuse and really compels me to rethink most of what u think. U are obviously a Dem op. U should've been a bit more nuanced. ...perhaps salvaged your credibility

Your missing the biggest part, immigration, and the degredation of british culture. My country has been eroded by the super wealthy bringing in cheap labour which has far out stripped our infrastructure and its costing the working class in terms of housing and taxes that are highest since WW2 (Edit) Labour also won the election, on a lower voter turn out than Jeremy Corbyn lost on, turns out rather vote labour or conservative..nobody voted, its gonna be five years of the country getting even worse

Wow this guy loves the sound of his own voice. I can't even get my head around how many times he flips and flops on what he says. Don't take my word for it just look through some of his past videos. At one point there was no way in hell that trump can win, few videos later it's "well depends who wins the election it could go either way" 😂😂 all those big words to say nothing 👍

My understanding is that all of the rulers since the revolution have hand-picked their successors, and often tried to pick the next two, in fear of their legacy being changed. The influence of ancestors is a big deal in some cultures. It's 'hard to believe Xi is going to let everything he's accomplished go to waste. The CCP will have a transition plan. Insight into the workings of the CCP is not open to outsiders.

Ehh I don't really know where he's getting his info from on this, London is still the #1 global financial hub, it's close to NY and sometimes they do trade places, but the US economy is 10x that of the UK's so it shouldn't be close. This really does make me doubt a lot of Zeihan's other takes if he's so wrong on this. Just google it, not hard to find the data.

A great overview of the situation in the UK. We negotiated a very sweet deal when joining the EU. The rejection of that deal was fueled by fear and ignorance. The lack of a plan B and policy of austerity sealed the Conservatives' fate. This is not a win for the so-called left, they're just filling the void.

Hi Peter. I am British and have lived nearly all of my adult life outside of the UK. History is clearly not your speciality. The first 3-4 minutes of this video is rubbish. You are better towards the end, as we approach the present day. My advice? Stick to what you do best. Don't try to know everything. You lower the value of your product, by straying.

I don’t like you because I feel you are the sharper end of the so called deep state…etc. but this is probably the best analysis (and communication) of the state of Great Britain as a country who has voluntarily cut their nose of despite their faces. What I have always believed is that Brexit and the messaging around Brexit was funded or rather engineered by Russia (using KZfaq & Facebook) and it represents the greatest victory of inducing national self harm in history. This is further by the fact that the leaders of Brexit & Frexit are suspiciously sympathetic as Russian Apologists. I point you to the Brexit ‘documentary’ that was spreading like wildfire just before the vote. Every body was sharing it. Bus drivers, security guards, delivery drivers. It was clearly a sabotage and disinformation project that was wildly successful.

I disagree with you about Biden's fitness for office. In any case, the winner in November will be either Biden or Trump. I agree that Biden looks like the likely winner if he can survive. However, IF - at this late date - the Democrats try to dump Biden, the party will implode and Trump will win in November. There is no third way.

Brexit was biggest own goal in history! They have blasted off both their feet with a shotgun! Indeed if you look now, Bresiteers have changed their argument. No longer is it "we want control of our sovereignty" now it's"`Sure, Europe is falling apart anyway, we were right to get out", foreseeing the collapse." However the reality is that with former world powers now mobilising, smaller countries need to be in a union to survive. They need to have allies, and Britain has given the two-fingered salute to its nearest and dearest ones! ...What I see happening is the former power now going cap in hand to its former colonies (the Indias, Jamicas, Canadas of this world) and begging for trade deals. But now, its the former colonies who have the upper hand!...Britain will be gamekeeper turned poacher!

You must also count the Americans who leave the US for nonwork reasons. Some are fed up with the US, and others leave to explore other cultures and wind up staying. There is a whole subreddit on Reddit for people who want to leave and have left the US called r/AmerExit. Of course, these numbers don't compare to the immigration, legal and illegal, the US benefits from. It is just a shame the US is losing some of its native educated population and when you are already in the negative you shouln't lose what you already have.
