Hello Bailey! thanks so much for these great videos. You mention to go for car coasters, pen wraps, clipboard templates before testing out tumblers. How about the can glasses which seem to have lower compétition than tumblers ? Can they all be part of the same niche ? Thank you!
@digitallypurposedbailey
@digitallypurposedbailey 10 ай бұрын
Hi there! You're welcome and yes, the glass jars definitely fall in that category and have way less competition along with the 4-in-1 can coolers or 40oz tumblers :)

Hey Bailey - When you land on a keyword from the list, where is the best place in your Etsy listing to put that keyword? If I'm targeting "affirmation cards printable', should the words be in that order in my title? I'm stuck on that... I have everything ready to list, I'm just confused as to wear the specific targeted keyword is supposed to go in the listing. Thanks!!! Love your channel. You have taught me SO much.

So in the beginning, I did 10 a day till I got to the 500 mark, there were some days missed here and there, but overall it took about 2 months. Since then, I add about 10-15 a day but only 3-4 days a week depending on what to-do list of designs look like.

Commissions are not just difficult is a nightmare. Easier to spend 2 years doing 10 listings than doing commission work. Everyone has opinion about every single detail, too much back and forth and never 100% pleased. Better to sell a product exactly as you show them.

So wait, Jim you're saying a century of well established economics is wrong? Or do you simply not understand economics? Seems to me a fool is one that is too dumb to know economics or apply settled economic principles. Economics clearly teaches the barrier to entry is the entrenched market. So if you want to enter a market you find one where you can become the entrenched market setter...that's a low competition market. See, if you enter a full market you have to offer a better product. Or you go set the market. I watch this video to say, find what people want (high demand) but with low competition (low supply). This is the law of supply and demand. If you can't grasp this simple economic concept then one must ask, who is really the fool? Business is all about economics so following economics is the only way to run a business imo. Just my two cents on what is being taught here...maybe I shouldn't be so rational and should ignore economics...maybe I'd be more successful if I ignored the way the world works...is that how not to be a fool Jim?

@@truecraftjunkie Being afraid of competition in business can indeed be seen as a failure, as it often reflects a mindset that is counterproductive and limits growth potential. While it's natural to experience some apprehension when facing competition, allowing that fear to dominate your thinking and decision-making can hinder your success in several ways. Stagnation and complacency: Fear of competition can lead to a complacent attitude where you become comfortable with your current position in the market. This complacency prevents you from actively seeking new opportunities, exploring innovative ideas, and adapting to changing market dynamics. As a result, you risk falling behind and losing your competitive edge. Lack of growth and development: Embracing competition encourages continuous improvement and innovation. It pushes you to constantly evolve and find ways to differentiate yourself from others. However, if you let fear hold you back, you may resist taking risks or exploring new strategies. This can stunt your growth potential and limit your ability to reach new markets or expand your customer base. Missed opportunities: Viewing competition as a threat can blind you to the potential opportunities it presents. Instead of seeing competitors as adversaries, consider them as valuable sources of inspiration and learning. By studying their strengths and weaknesses, you can gain insights that help you refine your own business approach, develop unique selling points, and capitalize on market gaps that they may have overlooked. Lack of customer focus: Fear of competition can lead to an inward focus, where your primary concern becomes protecting your own market share rather than meeting customer needs. However, customers are the lifeblood of any business, and neglecting their preferences and demands can drive them towards your competitors. Embracing competition forces you to stay customer-centric, understand their evolving expectations, and consistently deliver value to retain their loyalty. Inability to adapt to change: Markets are dynamic, and new players or disruptive technologies can emerge at any time. If you're afraid of competition, you may resist change and cling to outdated practices. However, embracing competition means being agile and adaptable, ready to pivot when necessary. By proactively monitoring the market and staying open to new ideas, you can position yourself to respond effectively to changes and maintain a competitive advantage. Instead of fearing competition, successful businesses view it as a catalyst for growth and improvement. They see it as an opportunity to raise the bar, innovate, and deliver greater value to customers. By embracing competition, you can foster a mindset of continuous learning, stay nimble in a rapidly changing business landscape, and ultimately position yourself for long-term success. Lack of motivation and drive: Fear of competition can sap your motivation and drive to succeed. When you view competitors as formidable threats, it's easy to become discouraged and doubt your own abilities. This mindset can hinder your willingness to take risks, pursue ambitious goals, and push yourself beyond your comfort zone. In contrast, a healthy competitive mindset can fuel your determination, ignite your passion for growth, and inspire you to continually strive for excellence. Limited perspective and narrow thinking: Fear of competition often narrows your perspective, causing you to focus solely on your immediate rivals. This limited view can blind you to emerging trends, new market entrants, and potential collaborations or partnerships that could benefit your business. By embracing competition, you broaden your outlook and become more attuned to the larger industry landscape, enabling you to spot new opportunities and make informed strategic decisions. Failure to differentiate and stand out: In a competitive market, it's essential to differentiate your business and carve out a unique position. However, if you are afraid of competition, you may be hesitant to distinguish yourself, fearing that it will draw attention and intensify the competition. This reluctance to stand out can lead to a bland and undifferentiated business, making it difficult for customers to perceive your value or remember your brand. Embracing competition encourages you to confidently showcase your unique strengths and value proposition, setting you apart from the crowd and attracting customers who resonate with your offerings. Limited self-assessment and improvement: Competition serves as a mirror that reflects your strengths and weaknesses. It provides valuable feedback and benchmarks against which you can assess your performance. By shying away from competition, you deny yourself the opportunity for self-reflection and improvement. Embracing competition means welcoming constructive criticism, analyzing your shortcomings, and proactively seeking ways to enhance your products, services, and overall business operations. Missed collaboration and partnership opportunities: The business landscape is not solely about rivalry; it also presents opportunities for collaboration and partnerships. By fearing competition, you may overlook the potential benefits of collaborating with other businesses in your industry. Strategic partnerships can lead to shared resources, expanded reach, and mutual growth. Embracing competition allows you to explore collaborative possibilities that can amplify your strengths and create synergies that benefit all parties involved. In conclusion, fear of competition in business can be detrimental to your long-term success. By shifting your mindset and embracing competition as a catalyst for growth, you position yourself to thrive in a dynamic and evolving marketplace. Instead of fearing competition, consider it a driving force that inspires you to continually improve, differentiate your business, and deliver exceptional value to your customers.

According to an article in The Economist "a low-competition niche will make it easier for you to dominate that specific market. Competing in broad niche markets is entirely possible, but competing in super-focused niches is easier and more profitable. It's also a lot less work to attract free search engine traffic, which should be one of your top objectives." It seems experts in the field support the opposite of what you present. The experts say entering against high competition is the best way to ensure failure. These experts put the concepts into real practice.
