There's much much more to the Kamaya & Gloria story. Although, I understand that is is just about the case being closed as far as the authorities are concerned. It's just in case anyone wants to follow it more indepth. The family was even on Iyanla Fix My Life as well. Kamaya is a firecracker to say the least (and Iyanla couldn't fix it). That's a sad case of Stockholm Syndrome if I've ever seen 1. Great vid.

@@DRUGSTOREMAKEUPDIVA I saw those excerpts a while back, too & it was absolutely Devastating to see how this has affected Kamiya in the long run - I've shed many tears trying to watch, digest and piece together what one womans selfish motives have done to an entire generation of family members; it hurts your heart in ugly ways, doesn't it?😞😞

This is no way a negative comment, I just wanted to pass it onto you that Massachusetts is pronounced like Massachewsets. We lived 10 minutes from the Mass line and completely understand it's difficulty in pronunciation. I've heard it pronounced so many different ways, especially since moving down South. I guess it's more of a tomato vs. tomoto kinda thing, but it's also a tongue twister. Great video, thank you!

The story of baby Kamiyah continues to be heartbreaking. She and her bio mom, Shanara, mostly don't speak. Shanara is hurt that Kamiyah loves & supports her kidnapper. Kamiyah has shunned her. Shanara says there is only mixed support for her, that people judge her. Even one of the stars of the movie says it's hard to know which side to be on. Apparently this is all because the kidnapper is looked at as a good person and good mother. Meanwhile there is footage of this 15-yr-old girl sobbing in her hospital bed, asking for her baby back. I don't know the whole story but it seems Shanara has lived a good life. She even celebrated her kidnapped daughter's birthday every year.

It's probably not all that different from doing it when you move country. I've moved from Australia and lived in the UK and now Canada (legally/legit) if you have one peice of legit looking ID you can build a legal identity. From there you can get a security number/tax number, bank account and proof of address. Sometimes people assume the identity of someone deceased, sometimes some one who passed away as a child/teen as you wouldn't have much in the way of ID at that point anyway. Thinking back to highschool we just filled a form out in class and got a tax file number

Paper trails have always been the easiest to follow. If a person doesn't want to be found, they usually aren't found. It has nothing to do with police being the rich's personal bodyguards or some corrupt shit that you watch for 120-200 minutes on SciFi and think it applies to real life. There are still dumbass that think Thanos is correct, that the world is over-crowded and we over-consume. Bull-shit. Stealing money has been a crime that is easy to solve. Sure, after awhile, the methods changed, but money always leaves a paper trail, some paper trails take longer to find than others (speaking of fiction, see Breaking Bad for that example), but it's easier to follow that trail than looking for someone's face in a pool of millions to billions. If you leave every trace of your identity behind, you're much harder to find. And most of these cases were before electronic fingerprints and global DNA registry; if a person never commits a crime or has a job that requires fingerprints on-file, they're pretty safe from being detected outside of heresay.

Because you obviously want to kidnap the child from a place far enough from where you live that you won't be recognized and she apparently had some familiarity with the hospital's layout so may have been a patient there at some point. Given the time period it might have been a 'black' hospital, as in the patients were predominantly or only black people so she simply camped the place because she knew a child would end up born shortly.
@yes2day100
@yes2day100 2 жыл бұрын
Perhaps because she knew, from asking people while she hung out in the hospital, that the mother was 15 years old, unmarried, and so she probably could rationalize her actions as being better for the child. Also, she figured that a 15 year old woman would get over it quickly and be able to have more children. People who are not full sociopaths but who are talking themselves into doing an antisocial act find ways to justify their conduct.

Crimes other than murder, war crimes, and physically violent crimes in the US have a statute of limitations, which means a person must be charged with the crime within a specific amount of time after the crime was committed. They probably were past that time limit.

I'm assuming that there was a statute of limitations. Also, with the accuser dead, there's no one to testify against her.

The person who would've pressed charges is now dead. If the person accusing her is no longer alive then that makes it difficult to charge her. It's like having an argument with a dead person - they can't rebuttal.
@sinandcyanide7505

@@jazbarry13 Embezzlement has a statute of limitations of 5 years. Even if the person pursuing charges was alive, it wouldn't have made a difference. The state or federal government (depending on the particular crime) will often charge someone even when the victim isn't available or doesn't want to press charges. The victim's family could also choose to press those charges if the victim has died. This case really just comes down to the passage of time and statute of limitations.

You’ve no idea how “perfect” looking families are behind the scenes. My mom did everything she could to force us to be happy and “normal” in public then scream at and abuse us later if we didn’t perform perfectly. She’s got a PhD in childhood development and knows what she’s doing is evil but nobody would believe me due to her performance. That girl probably got away from hell. It sounded like the parents were fighting with her constantly.

Just like how we can't be certain that the family wasn't abusive, we can't be sure that were abusive. It could be the fault of the perception of the individual as well. If thats the case, yes, that's selfish. Or worst case scenario, a toxic household. We can't be sure until an in-depth investigation is done.

Two reasons: one, the accuser was dead. There was no-one to press charges anymore, as the business had a new boss now, and couldn't press them. And two, statute of limitations for embezzlement is 5 years. She was gone for far longer than that, even if the boss was alive he couldn't have pressed against her due to it being so long.

I have a hard time believing that girl just up and ran away, cutting off all contact from her past life for no reason.

My own sister did the same with someone online, we were raised loved, had everything we ever needed or wanted, hell we never wanted for anything because we had it all. My folks even drove her to the damn bus and paid for her shit to be sent so she didn't have to, all so she would keep in touch but she cut them off and even our other sisters all because they wanted to send her gifts when she got pregnant. That was about 3ish years ago now. No one know's where she is, how she is, anything about the baby or how many babies. Nothing.. How do wait 19 years to finally reach out to police regarding your missing relatives??? Two people at that. The last family could have had justice within a week if someone cared enough 😕

You should have added John List to this ...he was captured years later living under a different identity after killing his entire family years earlier.

@aerodog2 willing to kill for it?? Sounds mighty suspect in itself. Who is to say he didn't obtain it of illegal means and that is why the woman embezzled it anyway?

It's so messed up to just disappear for years and leave your family to wonder whether you were murdered or not. That poor father at 13:25 died without ever knowing the truth. That's evil. People, if you want to disappear, at least leave your family a note or tell them or something beforehand or after you leave. It's the right thing to do.

The last case was a little unsolved. We never got to know exactly what had happened in 1995, how it led him to murder them and how he lost his memory.

How and why are not solved, but who is solved at least. I strongly suspect he's probably just lying about the memory loss.

There was once this girl called Sarah who went to a music festival with a friend. the friend turned around and realised that Sarah wasn’t there she went looking everywhere but couldn’t find her, the friends dad came at midnight and helped with the search but they found nothing, they called the police and there was a massive search, Sarah’s parents blamed the friend. After a week or so the police found Sarah’s dress in the river and pronounced her dead. After two weeks Sarah knocked on her parents door, they asked where she had been but she had no memory at all. It’s a really interesting story, Kate Miller hideka even wrote a song about it

In case you failed to see the scenario painted by the narrator, Kamiyah was heading for a Maury Povich life with a teen mom and a sperm donor in jail. She would have been very fortunate not to wind up on the streets fending for herself by ten years old or in the foster care cycle. And good ol' Shanara did not turn down that million dollar settlement, and I would bet you it's all gone. Kamiyah was raised with love and caring, and was devastated when her mother went to prison. I find it ridiculous that the woman got eighteen years when drunks who kill entire families in accidents get five years. Kamiyah immediately saw what life with the bio parents would have been like, and opted to support the only mother she had ever known. I commend her for taking her stance against popular opinion.
