Many years ago, GF called 911 because there was a bat in the apartment. She totally lost her mind. Two Months later while watching the local Ten O'Clock news, they had a segment on what situations were and were not appropriate to use 911. Sure enough, the dispatcher being interviewed started laughing and mentioned a 911 call from a hysterical Woman calling about a bat in the apartment a couple of months back. The reporter started laughing and the news anchors started laughing. I turned to her and said, "Hey honey, they're talking about you." She put her hands over her face started crying and ran to the bathroom and locked the door. It took two hours to coax her out.

I called the police about a spider when they got here they were so mad but tried to kill it anyway but when one tried, that long huge spider literally crawled up his hand to his face then down his shirt so fast ... *The fear* on his face and him freaking completely, even knocking his partner over made me feel justified...long story short I'm just arachnophobic your gf wasn't wrong what if it had a disease or attacked animal control charges like $600 for stuff like that so who else would get it out

You know, it may seem really dumb to call in a DUI on yourself, but in reality I think it took both courage and a deep moral compass to do it. I mean she was coherent enough to calmly explain her situation, she was coherent enough to ask if she was going to jail and obviously coherent enough to ask if she should pull over. I commend her for being concerned about the fact that she was not in a state where she should be driving on the road!

If she was coherent enough for all the things she mentioned, she was coherent enough to drive the 2 miles to her house thus avoiding losing her license, heavy fines, a night in the clink, higher insurance rates and possibly losing her job. Not to mention that she could’ve been breaking the law for calling if she wasn’t using a hands free device.

Your family will get an ambulance bill, and emergency room bill. The bill for you dieing on the street could be up to 2,000 dollars. People say they can't afford to live. Shit, I can't afford to die.

DUI and license revocation can depend on state laws, however important to note that just because someone doesn’t have a license doesn’t stop them from driving. All they need are keys and a car. In my state someone had 28 DUIs.

The couple made brownies with 7 g weed in it. A "small chunk" could probably have 0.5 g - 1.75 g assuming they mixed uniformly. It would have to be a fire dope to actually make him think he was dead. And wife just seemed on another level. Although, individual responses vary especially when its your first time. I never had a bad trip but do sympathize with folks who get paranoid.

Years ago, I was watching a serious news program that would occasionally relate weird stories, for a little levity. They told the story of a man who was drinking heavily at home alone. He passed out in a chair underneath where he had mounted on the wall a large set of antlers from a moose or an elk (reindeer). While unconscious the antlers fell off the wall, trapping him in his chair. Fortunately, he was not injured. He was able to reach the phone, so he dialed 9-1-1 and explained the problem. He was asked, "sir, have you been drinking?" He said yes, but that did not mean he wasn't telling the truth.

The state of New Jersey DUI is about $10,000 in fees/fines/lawyers/etc for first offense but you also lose your license for 3 months (over .08 but under .10) or 7+ months for anything over .10. You also have to have the breath interlock installed onto your car for 1+ years after your get your license back....also at your expense of about $100/month.

The first call is from Clark County Wisconsin. It's a pretty small rural community, taxis/ubers/lyfts are hard to come by and it can be miles between houses.

You can get so high at the worst you might green out (throw up) or fall asleep but weed can’t make you die. Throw up or fall asleep at WORST

You guys were talking about DUI laws here and how that works. Well, I found out first hand when my ex wife started getting DUIs that if you have a good lawyer he can make that go away. She ended up with four DUIs total before they finally locked her up for 90 days. 90 days is for first offenders. I remember when I asked my lawyer ( we were going thru the divorce at the time ) why she kept getting away with DUIs and he said if you have the money then basically your attorney can get you off every time you get one. It's when people run out of money because it is expensive, that they end up going to jail.

In my experience, you’re supposed to call paramedics for help with mental health problems like a 12 yo who needs restraining, or things like elderly or obese people who fall and can’t get up. I laughed when the dispatcher said what do you want the police to do, come over and shoot her? because that’s hilarious if you’re not wrestling with a 12 yo. but it’s the heart of the reason why you don’t call the police. What’s confusing is that if you call your psych Dr or a suicide hotline (we don’t have Samaritans here -I’m not sure the equivalent) and they convince you to go to the hospital, you might get a ride from a policeman in a police car. So, I hear. But don’t call the police to start the process.

Each state has their own DUI laws. Some states are more harsh than others. Most ban your license for a year but, can get it reduced with defense driving classes and paying a fine for first offense

16:15 a lot of "phony" 911 calls are from victims of domestic violence who are within earshot of their abuser. I've heard of some calling 911 asking to order a pizza. And the 911 operator will be like "is there someone there who is violent towards you?" and they'll be like "yes, pepperoni is fine." "Does he have any weapons?" "No, no cheesy bread."

In Tennessee it’s 48 hours & a year suspended on your license for your 1st DUI, 90 days & another year for your 2nd & a year in jail & another year for your 3rd. They start over after 10 years without one though.

Each state in the US has its own DUI laws. There is NO centralized or federal handling of DUIs. Some states are stricter than others, and would never allow multiple DUIs.

America is much more car centric because of the size of the country so the penalty builds with each drunk driving infraction. First offense is usually suspended license of 30 days and some fines, second is a much longer suspension and sometimes jail time. They hope the first one is bad enough to scare you away from doing it again without crippling your ability to hold a job or create a scenario where you drive without a license.

First DUI is kind of a slap on the wrist especially if you have money. They suspend your license until you can pay the fees and get a breathalyzer installed in your car. 3rd DUI is a felony though. At least in Iowa.

Honestly fast food places really take your money and try to force you to buy something instead of giving you your money back & most of us only eat 1 particular thing at every restaurant so not giving ppl their money back can drive you crazy, so at least she called someone because some people will literally go in the register and get their money back 🤣🤣 and then that's when it escalates

The closest bar and store from where I live is 11 minutes by car, but more than 3 hours by foot. I don't think I'd be walkin', lol. But we do have a service there in Alabama that'll drive you home for free if you're drunk. It's a government funded service. Unfortunately, not enough people know about it.

You eventually lose your license for it in the US but not immediately (usually). Though if you kill someone by accident while drunk driving, you can expect to spend over a decade in prison for it.

Drunk driving here is determined by each individual state. Some call it DUI(driving under the influence) others call it DWI(driving while intoxicated). The punishments vary significantly based on a variety of factors. Whats most common just from my casual knowledge of people around me in society, the first one, you'll face a lot of penalties but won't necessarily lose your license. But the second one, I feel like you almost always have your license suspended. Having 5 of them seems far fetched...unless they were also driving illegally without a license.

To be fair the chicken nugget lady Wasn't calling because she didn't get chicken nuggets she was calling because they refused to give her money back which by law they have to give her her money back because there's no signs if there's no signs there's say no refunds in a McDonald's I mean she should have called the nanny emergency number but she didn't seem bright enough to figure that out

The first lady was clearly lost in some shit, knew what she was doing was wrong, and was looking for someone to tell her what to do - anything to get out or away. It's not uncommon to think "what if I just went over to that cop and told him all I was doing? I'd go to jail for a bit, maybe, but at least it would be over one way or another by the end." Imagine if you actually could, as an addict on your lowest days, just go to a cop or city worker or hospital and actually get help? Too many times getting fucked over and even deeper in a hole by the authorities kinda makes it hard to want to - not to mention that most of the facilities were privatized.

The fentanyl problem isn’t because people are lacing weed with fentanyl. It’s because shady drug dealers are selling fake common opiate pills like Vicodin That are actually fentanyl. Which is just another opiate but the problem is that fentanyl is dosed in micrograms because it’s so potent that it’s easy to get a “hot” pill that has too much. Just like how Mac miller died by getting fake pills. Nothing to do with weed. Drug dealers would be losing money lacing weed.

That guy that ate the weed, that really wasnt that dumb of a call. Its very common for it to be laced with other drugs or even chemical fertilizers. Ppl have actually died this way. The dumbest part of that call was the annoying dispatcher’s voice and her weird questions.

Every story I've ever seen by cops or whomever talk about marijuana laced with [x] it has always turned out to not be true. Beyond that fact it also doesn't make any sense logically speaking. People sometimes lace their own marijuana with other drugs, but the idea that someone secretly laces marijuana they sell with [x] is ridiculous because it would just mean the person selling it makes less money [or likely would even be losing money because of how expensive the additive would be combined with the little wiggle room available on the price they can sell it at.] The odds of this ever happening is similar to the odds you would win the powerball jackpot.

In my state, if you refuse a breathalyzer test, it's an automatic 1 year loss of license. So you will lose your license regardless unless you win in court.
