Yes, drinking is selfish. It takes the essence of you away from yourself and other people, leaving an annoying idiot in its place.

I broke up with my boyfriend a few hours ago. I don’t think he’s ever going to leave it. He doesn’t do it everyday anymore, but it affected our relationship badly. I don’t know if it’s messed up of me to send this to him or not. He probably hates me. He was intoxicated the whole time when he came home from a party. I’m sure he saw the events that happened differently. He’s not a bad person. He just becomes someone different when drinking and even though I love him I had to let go. My stupid brain has this mentality that he’ll realize he has to change his ways and come conquest me all over again.. but I know that won’t happen. ://

I agree alcohol is not a social thing . It does push you inside of your self . It is a very selfish act.

humble kidd I am a couple weeks sober. I told my wife today that this is it, I’m going to drink. She didn’t protest. It made me feel worse. I didn’t drink and said we will see tomorrow. I’ve been telling her how I hate being sober, even though it is more good than bad. To be answerable to all those people who say I am the happiest drunk they’ve ever met is not easy, even if I want to quit I may be reminded by everyone just how much fun I used to be. I don’t know man. My drink of choice is beer.

Kanwar Anand if you truly feel you have a problem with alcohol then it's only up to you to finally make the decision to abstain from it. I used to be the fun, chill, happy cool drunk that everyone invited over whenever there was a get together. But, slowly I started becoming combative, aggressive, obnoxious, argumentative, reckless! People started staying away from me & some family members where telling me I need to lay off the booze. When it starts interfering with your friendships, family and over mental state, productivity and your view of life... it's definitely time to quit. I relapsed 3 days ago but, I'm so determined to really stop drinking and changing my way of life.

Alcohol ruined my relationship. It was the lynchpin for seven years. I was in complete denial. Ultimately it was more important than me. The relentless lying and deceit was the final nail in the coffin. Very sad 😞

My plumber, who FAILED to install/fix a toilet after three times, left here cursing at me for HIS inability to function. I have NO patience or use for alcoholics. I RUN AWAY as soon as I find out someone is an alcoholic. Even if they DO get sober, they remain "dry drunks" - hateful, mean, moody and angry. No sane person needs an alcoholic in their lives. They ruin so many lives.

It’s so true. My partners addiction put so much stress on me to fix it that I now I am suffering mentally myself. And our relationship is virtually gone, and it pains me so. Alcohol addiction really rips away the person who you truly are and hurts so much more than helps. It makes the people you love want to fix everything so bad because they love you so much and they just get burnt out, like I did. If you can't be happy with yourself you will never make anyone else happy either because they will be trying so hard to make you feel love that they end up feeling short handed and one sided. It's just not good. Alchol will make you lose everything. I promise.

For me, it's how they lie so naturally to you, are never there for you when YOU need them, you barely see them , it just feels so one sided all the time, like you don't matter or are just a convenience , long silences too, you start to feel worthless and alone ,as it seems to be mainly words and not much action or presence, then because you love them you want to stay and help despite the dispare you feel, then you wonder if your helping at all and if leaving would help us both. ... brilliant times.

I can relate so much. You feel like in the end you become codependent on them because 24/7 you're worrying about them constantly. It breaks your heart when you're trying to help them but it becomes a struggle with their emotions everyday. I know you posted this a year ago but if you're struggling Al Anon really is helping me through the relationship. Eventhough we've broken up having the support to understand everything that has happened me has helped me so much. Hope you're staying strong and gain that strength you need ❤️

He has to despise to get the help and there’s no way to save him from himself. I’m sorry 😞 I promise it will hurt more if you delay your own healing though. I fight all I could to make my ex partner Happy, while she was drinking. I really dont know who she actually was, because she was always affected of alkohol. It was everyday almost and it escalated sometimes, during hard times. She put all blame on me, denied everything, acted childrish and selfish. Some time she came back after me again, then she missed and remembered What comfort and pleasure I had bring in her life. But is surrely soon ended if I didnt deliver enough .

I am so happy I have stumbled upon this video, thank you for confirming what I have been thinking about alcohol lately. I am thinking about quitting drinking alcohol and we think we should normalize not drinking. Drinking is so normalized and getting drunk is associated with having fun, this is quite problematic.

Blessings Kevin!!! Another great piece of insight and information on the effects of alcohol on your relationships. Just wanted to add some perspective of my own via my own research and journey. Although alcohol is a depressant, I am of the mindset that it affects every individual differently dependent on your chemical makeup. 2 people given the same type of alcohol can react totally differently. One can become overly joyous, more outgoing and happy while the other can become violent, loud and obnoxious. I just think it would be making a blanket statement that alcohol effects everyone the same, because it is really an individual affair. All in all abuse of the substance is not good for anyone and that is a statement we can all agree upon. Great videos Kevin... continue onwards and upwards.

While your correct it doesnt take away from the fact that alcohol isba dangerous drug and destroys the body, mainly the brain and liver longterm. It also effect everyone around the individual. When looked at from a spiritual standpoint the work alcohol in Arbiac is al-kul and it means body eating spirit. All alcohol is a low vibration and causes a person to disconnect from the divine due to it makes their body vi rate on a very low frequency. Spirits await the person to become drunk so they can take over which is why people arent their normal self when drunk. It is the # 2 drug killing 3Million per year. There is no benefit to it. It's a killer. Why do you think they call liquor "spirits". Think about it

I love having a drink but what I find is that I just drink to much to fast. I Iove the feeling of being drunk but absolutely hate the feeling the next day. The danger of alcohol is when it becomes normal to drink and before you know it your drinking every night and always come up with an excuse to drink because you just convince yourself to do it whether it’s stress or just having a bad day. Knowing at the end of that day there’s a reward of a drink can keep you going. The key to stop drinking I think is replacing it with something as equally as pleasurable. I’m not an alcoholic but I have found it’s becoming more normal to drink. I could easily stop drinking but I just need to replace it with excercise or some other form of a productive hobby or interest. I have gone completely without drink many times and the natural feeling of being healthy definitely out weighs the temporary feeling of being drunk. I hope this does help people.

You can't help an alcoholic.They're self-medicating their past trauma and don't have the courage or ability to face their pain. Only 17% of those who "try" to get sober ever do. The rest die drunk, alone, hated, and useless.

Key word is moderation and responsibility. You don’t have to avoid or give up alcohol entirely, a lot of things are bad for you. Even good things like healthy dieting and exercise do the opposite if it completely takes over your life. So long as your balancing out your alcohol intake and have supportive people in your life you’ll be alright.

Not for alcoholics....
@mikaelhawke23
@mikaelhawke23 4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Hernandez not necessarily true. Even an alcoholic can chose to drink again in moderation, whether or not they stay that way is on them and no one else. Self discipline and responsibility lies on the individual. Unfortunately even non-alcoholism can become another form of unhealthy addiction as well, depending on the individual of course and how they cope with it. If a person isn’t mentally and emotional healthy and balanced then no amount of avoiding alcohol consumption will truly help them because the alcohol was irresponsibly used for avoiding a deeper issue.
@andrewhernandez9857
@andrewhernandez9857 4 жыл бұрын
If an alcoholic can drink again in moderation, that person isn't a real alcoholic. Trust me, moderation goes out the door eventually. What is your information based on?
@mikaelhawke23
@mikaelhawke23 4 жыл бұрын
Andrew Hernandez, from my experiences, listening to everyone else’s experiences and listening to studies and professional input. However you don’t need to be a professional to understanding alcoholism and how to handle it. That being said, I’m not what so ever suggesting an former alcoholic should try drinking again just because I have my own opinion on the matter. I’m pointing out that going from non alcoholic to former alcoholic doesn’t work for everyone, even in they never binge again. Unless your physically, mentally and emotionally comfortable and responsible with alcoholism and alcoholic drinkers then you’ll never truly recover or overcome from the negative experiences with alcoholism. You can’t be free from alcoholism just from putting down the bottle.
