Hi teacher. excellent class as always. For the expression " allow the dust to settle", we have exactly the same in Portuguese and we say - "Deixar a poeira assentar. " and is used for a similar situation, the same context.

Hi Teacher. Learning English has been a foot in the door. My father was too nervous when I have told him that I found a fiancé, and I allowed the dust to settle then I have spoken to him again. I was in the army in the country where I was born and at that time my country was in the war I was back against the wall. She is thinking that he loves her, but she is Barking up the wrong tree. Russian and American thought that they could defeat the Taliban, it was a shot in the dark. It is a shot in the dark thinking that we can succeed in English without learning grammar. I had my back against the wall when I came to London without speaking English but somehow I managed to overcome the language barrier.
