1. Mash DP 2. Pray 3. Mash DP and Pray 4. Pray and Mash DP 5. If you're fighting a Carl Clover with custom colors, immediately quit the game and just go have a drink, the situation would not have turned out well either way.

lol you got an intermediate guide since tools for BB I learned are: 1: Stay calm 2: Play on the offensive 3: Respect your opponent to an extent and play smart. 4: Practice and learn your character and how well you can work with Thier neutral game. 5: DON'T MASH and that's about it

Awesome tutorial! I'm not new to fighting games, but kinda new to BlazBlue. I just feel like when you talked about hit confirming it should be clarified, that the actual "confirm" is a futher combo that ends with a (normally) "unsafe" combo ender. So for those who don't know: A move is unsafe, when your character needs more frames to recover and be ready to read the next input from your controller, than the blocking opponent needs to do the same. So in a match, when appliyng pressure on your opponent you hit buttons that can start a combo (normally the first 2 or 3 hits of a combo are quite fast) and when you see, that you actually got a hit you proceed to finish your combo. If your opponent blocks all, in that case, 3 attacks you switch to another set of fast attacks, to brake his defense. This however, is how I learned about confirming in fighting games. If there is a significant difference in anime fg, that I missed feel free to corret me!

What exactly do you want to know? I'm no master, but I think I know the basics (and some intermediate stuff) well enough to explain them to newer players.

Sweet mercy, you actually replied! Well, i was curious about applying more pressure, i can never seem to do it consistently and i always end up ruining my combos. Also, do you use a fightpad or just the system controller; does it flow easier for either one? Lastly, i'm not really too good on fighting game terminology...
@gerkirschbaum
@gerkirschbaum 6 жыл бұрын
I'm happy to help! I use a fightstick. I went from the normal gamepad, over a fightpad (kinda hybrid thing between gamepad and stick) to my my fighstick, that I use today. And yes, for me it flows better. But it's important to realize, that this is 100% up to personal taste. Of course on could analyze what actually works better on a pad and what generally works better on a fightstick, but I don't think it is accurate enough to be worth the effort. What matters is, what feels best for you. You may want to order a stick and try it for a day or two. If you like it you keep it. If not send it back. You can be equaly good with either. Which kinda sucks, since I can't blame my input device for bad execution :D Regarding terminology: That's something you pick up over time. I could explain the most important terms (and I will, if you really want to), but I honestly think you are better off with googleing the words you're unfamiliar with, as you come across. Regarding pressure: the most essential thing about pressure is "don't do combos". I'm not sure if I interpreting you correctly, but you shouldn't go for combos when trying to apply pressure. Combos are for doing lots of damage, pressure is for bringing your opponent in stiuations, where they start to make mistakes. Here's an example: You just finished your super awesome 4k damage combo that put your opponent into the corner, so you run up to him to finally kill him. But you know that you can't continue your combo once the opponent hit the floor ("hard knockdown") so you need to apply pressure to break his defense once more. What that means is that you start hitting buttons as he wakes up, so he is forced to block you. These buttons are usually fast attacks (as 5A, 6A, 5B and so on) that link into each other (so the opponent can't counter you mid-attack). Often these buttons also lead into a full combo, if executed completely. But the key is to not finish your combo. That is because those fast attacks have less recovery (2 or 3 frames) than a slow special attack (often 10 frames +) that are your combo enders. Since you are already able to attack after let's say 2 frames and the opponent can attack after at least 2 or 3 frames ("blockstun") you can do the same attacks over and over again, until he lets his guard down and you can "confirm" your combo. I hope that isn't to hard to understand, I don't how much experience you have with fighting games, but feel free to ask further if anything is unclear!

Can you do Hakumen tutorial please.
@Ragnarokgaming88
@Ragnarokgaming88 7 жыл бұрын
tips for new players trying to use hakumen 1 - (why cant I do combos with hakumen) most of his combos use his meter/stocks. try to do combos that use 1 to 3 stocks. 2 - learn what all your moves do. (I know that sounds stupid to say but since hakumen cant combo all the time you need to know how to use his moves to keep the enemy off of you. this link will send you to dustloop (hakumens page) there you can see what all of hakumens moves do. www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=BBCF/Hakumen.) 3 - I cant type everything you need to know in one comment or it will be a mile long. if you want to know more about hakumen you can message me on ps3. im zero_enna_

You don't react to Ukemi, you predict it. Most techs are 30 frames, that's half a second and rolls will pass through your character in the first 10, most 2A's have a 4 second startup which would give you 0.06 seconds to react. That's impossible. What you actually do is probe someone with knockdowns for the first round and then try to read, there's a major difference.

@Honorablepleb

Ryan Gonzales I know it's a bit late, but the way to learn combos is either through watching tourney matches/character specific tutorials online or by labbing them yourself. The easiest way to do that is pretty much to pick a move (usually something that comes out fast) then see what other moves you can chain into. A simple option that works for a lot of characters would be starting with a light attack (standing or crouching) then trying to combo into mediums, heavies, or supers. You can usually get a couple light attacks in before switching to others, but keep in mind this will changing the spacing, and will behave differently in corner, so try a bunch of stuff to maximize your damage. Also just an important note here, you can tell is your attacks are chaining or not by keeping an eye on the combo counter. If your number of hits resets, then it's not a true combo and could be countered by a real opponent. And another thing that should be a given is that you need to learn all of, or at the very least most of your characters options before experimenting with combos. Keep in mind lights mediums and heavies have different properties depending on your position (standing, crouching, or airborne). All that said, don't feel like you need to learn your character front to back before playing online/with friends. Find a character you feel comfortable doing the basics with then try taking them against real opponents. The more time you spend with them, the more you'll learn about em . Hope this helps

I feel like another tool that would be helpful would be match up knowledge. Even if it means you set the COM to 80 and going at it. You'll know what the overhead looks like and how can I stop this or poke here. The other isn't really a tool in game that you can learn but I believe websites like dustloop definitely help you immerse yourself whatever character you choose. From frame data to optimal combos and such.

make U cry there are still strict timings, but in GG i've noticed some early combo parts are easier to drop. at the very least, in BB you probably won't ever drop a 5 hit combo for most characters if you at least know what your character can do
