If the blank wall space bothers you, you can add a shade behind the curtains hung at the same height to give even more of an illusion of height.

Hi Mariah! Do you mean a piece of artwork hung over the bed? If so, you could do a piece or several pieces that are about 2/3 to 3/4 the width of the bed. This brand has an example of how that could work: taylorandwells.com/the-family-bed/. Just make sure it's safe to hang art there i.e., are you in an earthquake area or do you have little ones that like to use the bed as a trampoline? Depending on how much additional space you have you can also balance with a substantial furniture piece, a tree or some large artwork elsewhere in the room. ~Liz
