In this video Caroline shows me how to create glowing, younger looking skin and then brighter, less tired eyes. She conceals my dark circles and uses a reflective concealer over the top before highlighting the inner corners of my eyes with a pearly eyeshadow.
Caroline uses a pretty blush to create the illusion of fullness on the cheeks rather than a heavier contour, which can make cheeks look sunken and older. She then lifts my eyebrows by fixing the brows upwards and only adding definition on the top edge.
My slightly saggy eyelid is corrected using a deep bronze shadow! Then lips are plumped out, not by using a gloss but by changing the shape of my lipline. It's all very clever stuff.

I loved this video because it was strictly informational. No one was trying to sell anything, it wasn't sponsored just straight tips from a professional. Thats what the video was: professional without being stiff or awkward.

Love this.. older, tired, stressed, or have been unwell.. we need these kinds of tricks. Most of KZfaq is filled tutorials for teens, and twenties .. when its so much easier to do makeup. Ruth your skin is great, but most of us have uneven skintone, pigmentation, blemishes, fine lines etc..

+Mel Parkin no... 99% of videos are made for camera makeup..or to be exact they are made for selling a products so why not put in one video as much products you can... in last few months it is not enough one highlighter now you need at least three .... ..heh they cannot sell that BS to me and you... but to 12,14,16 old girls...

I love this! I find this kind of makeup so much prettier than the whole contour/highlight/bronzer that is so popular these days. It really makes you look glowing and healthy and young(not that you're old!). :)

I love it! Now that I am a mom I feel like I always look tired and for some reason when I put concealer under my eyes the shade is a bit off. Love this, Ruth! Please do more videos with Caroline. I'm in my late thirties and just can't wear the same make up I did ten years ago. I think this is an age group which is a bit forgotten about in make up tutorials. We're not exactly 'mature', and still want fun and interesting make up looks, but can't really do all out shimmer and highlight. Or maybe we should and just not worry about it? Would love to hear you and Caroline's thoughts on this.

+Jessica H old women can wear shine, in fact it's very rejuvenating, it's about placing it cunningly and blending it so it looks like real youthful shine, there are loads of old ladies shop at my supermarket look amazing, problem is, you have to stare too long to figure out how they did it:(
