Greetings from the Colonies! Late to the party, but loving the discovery of the content of your channel. Just ordered my first metal detector. I know it's sub standard/sub optimal, but I need to start slow and understand the process prior to expanding the toolbox - investing more sweat prior to finance. Starting looking here first, (long forgotten and grown-over pioneer areas). Then moving on to the beaches of Jamaica this fall, and then The Dominican Republic in early 2023. Thanks for all you do. These videos are fun, which means you've laboured in the post end of it.

Another important thing about pinpointers is your holes are neater which can be very important when digging permissions in gardens , parks ,church yard, school yards etc

Happy new year to you. I think a coin ped whit distilled water would be good to ceap the patina intact and softened the dirt to the time you sitting at home and start the real cleaning process.

Happy New year Chris. Small blunt legally allowed to be carried knife for rocky ground so as not to damage finds .

I went to a field where Roman artefacts were found I decided to walk besides an old road down steep ridge and I found under a tree I treasure in a jug from the early ads it was so great was my first crazy find in there was a fabric which was still part wise okay and wrapped in the fabric silver artefacts and iron which was totally rusted away I imagined something could roll down the hill but what it really was it was not easy to reach and jackpot hhhhh
