FYI I have gotten a few comments saying that if you *add dish soap to the paint for the scratch art,* it will make the paint come off smoother. So, if the roughness bothers you, add dish soap when doing this :)

90's kid here, ages 10-19. In the early 90's we would get wire- wire stripped from a vacuum cleaner was the best, most colorful- (you could buy it too) and make these really cool wrapped bracelets. And we would do the glue things but trace super simple coloring book pages to make "suncatchers". I miss the 90's.

a quick tip for the plushie hearts: if you don't have stuffing, like i didn't, i ripped up some cotton balls and that worked pretty well

This girl is just really funny, doesn't edit her mistakes but just made it funny, and actually simple ideas unlike any other arts and crafts that are difficult. Shes just awesome! (Yes, I'm using my Mom's acc ;-;)

omg as I watched the painting of the pencils I was thinking about elementary school using marker and glue on the top of my pencil case and I couldn't remember exactly how to do it and then it was mentioned in the very next craft! Yay for 90s kids crafting while bored at school.

I tried almost all these crafts ( Except the heart plushies ) and they came out great my personal favorite were the pencils and Pom Pom jar but I mostly had fun making and doodling on the scratch art which WAS messy but I loved these!

A tip! If coloring a piece of paper is too time consuming, you can also print a tie-dye pattern or whatever else you want out. Or use spare wrapping paper if you don't have a printer, just be sure to be careful with the wrapping paper when you put the tape on, though, because it's more fragile than regular paper.

I did the scratch paint thingy a lot in preschool, but I did it another way. 1.) Cover the paper in rainbow crayons. 2.) Color over that in black crayons. 3.) Scratch with your fingernail Basically the same thing, but I was bored so I commented this : )

That scratch art craft was so cool and i followed along and realized I didn’t have any paint so I’m gonna prewatch it before i do it heh😅

I’ve got a trick for that scratch-craft. If you mix the black acrylic paint with soap, I don’t think it will become that kinda scratchy 😜

I really enjoyed these! I often think, "Why would I want to make this?" when watching 5 minute crafts, but there were some great ones here, and I'm actually going to do a few of these. Beautiful pastel rainbow pencils with a metallic accent? Yes, please. Also, if you mix a little bit of dish soap to your acrylic paint, it dries completely but ends up softer, so it is very easy to scrape off and the edges of the scraped areas are smooth. I can't remember the ratio of soap to paint, but it is a lot more paint than soap. I'd start experimenting with a 1:4 ratio. Thanks for the great ideas!

Better quality paint does cut down on the flaking, I do that black over colours trick all the time. My paint is probably older than hers but it’s still good because I was given good quality paint as a gift
