I always wondered why Japanese brands send hand towels. I was so confused! "Is this for really cute bathing? It's too cute though! I can't use this for my face... Maybe it's decoration? But why decorate your room with Angelic Pretty hand towels???" This makes so much more sense!

Oh the cooling patches for the forehead! When I was younger my Japanese mom used to use them for me when I got a fever, but I remember that I never talked about it with my friends or with anyone really because no one in France seems to use it
@helenl3193
@helenl3193 5 жыл бұрын
We get them in the UK and they are often marketed to help with migraines. There's a couple of brands, I'm fairly sure the most common one is called Kool Aids, that might help you find them..?

For at home, I just use a gel eye mask which can be popped in the fridge and then strapped to the forehead. It's cheaper and eco-friendly, but much harder to hide/make look good if you're going out!

We have them in the UK, often marketed for migraines as well as fever, in case that helps you find them. The main one I'm aware of is called Kool'n'Soothe, but I think Nurofen do one for fever too

As someone who is super super sunburn prone, I use the Japanese Biore Aqua Rich sunscreen. It’s the only one that I consistently don’t burn through (which is a feat) and I love that it doesn’t feel sticky or chalky.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who brings an umbrella everywhere no matter the season. Some of these tips I already know or practice since I'm from the tropics, but we don't have those patches for itchy bites, I'm definitely gonna buy some when I visit Japan next week

Umbrellas also really help cool you if you have dark hair, because dark colors absorb heat

I found the cooling patches at Daiso. My niece and I love them! It even helped soothe a migraine in Texas beach heat! I also bought a couple of small handkerchiefs in a terry cloth at Daiso. I try to carry handkerchiefs and paper fans everyday, but the washcloth-y ones are more absorbent.

Lots of good ideas! I especially love the handtowel idea as public bathrooms here have non-absorbent paper towels. I find linen towels are absorbent and dry faster than terrycloth.

I wish I could have some of those cooling things :( I live in Medellín, Colombia, and we don’t have seasons, it’s just always hot and humid. Even though there’s been a couple of Japanese and Korean stores opening up here, like Miniso and TonyMoly, I’ve never seen any of those cooling products, even though they would be so useful here.

I read that if you heat up a spoon (with hot water) for example and then hold it against the bug bite the heat will kill the itchy chemicals in the bite.

About mosquitoes. Have you taken vaccine against japanese encephalitis? I think it is recommended if you are staying in Japan for a long time.

Japanese encephalitis is so rare that only ten people a year get it. Bug sprays are effective enough for going outside. It’s not necessary for living in Tokyo especially.

Hello, I'm a new subbie :) You're so sympathic and I really like your tipps. Have had a look for the Shiseido Sunmedic, but unfortunately they don't have it here in Germany. I'll put it on my wishlist and hope to find it somewhere, so I can order it. :-) I loooove the Pikachu pads... even I'm 38, I would put them on... so adorable! And would help me not to itch. :D Those cooling patches and the clothing spray are also very helpful and I'll have a look if we do have something similar here. It's so hot at the moment I need everything cooling I can get. Thank you for all your mentions... I'm looking forward to more videos of you :-) Have a great day!

Do people in japan not like using automatic hand dryers? I wonder why?
@evaweiss1160
@evaweiss1160 5 жыл бұрын
Hand dryers are a paradise for bacteria... just google it. If you think about it, it is much more environmental friendly for everyone to carry their own towel than to provide paper towels. I also found it weird at first, but now I am used to carrying a cotton handkerchief at all times. And now in summer, I need it to wipe my sweat as well.

Eva Weiss And most of it is harmless. The 2 Harvard cited that could cause issue, one requires a weakened immune system, and the other is Staph, and strains of that were present in the air exposed petri dishes before using the dryer. As a parent, I already hav little plague-bearers sharing every bug they encounter. Drying my hands with air doesn't scare me.
