The sunburst anemone is also know as the rainbow bubble tip anemone. Around here, they sell for 90Cad, and are readily available at my lfs. In fact, there's over 2 dozen floating around the reef display tank.

I bought a single head holy grail torch coral the moment my tank finished cycling. 2 years later it has 5 heads now. Love it. I have also an 11-heads hellfire torch from a 5-heads, next to that HG. Holy and Hell sit next to each other ;-P

Hi I don’t know if you can help me but I bought a pair of clowns 1 week ago, added them to quarantine treated for internal parasites and after a couple of days they were eating, doing 10 percent or less water changes every other day and then when I did a larger water change and added 2nd treatment last night, they have stopped eating today... acting normal swimming but look a little scared and stressed, maybe because of the treatment and heavy water change they are stressed? Any ideas?

Insane prices for small corals, that are unique and beautiful for sure, but whoever buys them are certainly taking a huge gamble, for I take it they’re wild and therefore even if you think you know what your doing, they could still die on you. The saying comes to mind “more money than sense” 👍🏴

A Coral is a coral, Kingdom: Phylum: Class. Its is silly Humans that pay these prices that puts their prices so high... BTW Cornbread is one of the highest and others have the same corals much cheaper.
@Mike__B2 жыл бұрын
1:36 actually I disagree, it's super hard to understand why that coral is so expensive, ok I take that back it's easy to understand it's pure greed mixed with hype mixed with silly reefer mentality of what "pretty" is, but having been in this hobby for well over 25 years I have seen how all of the above has really morphed out of control. And to be fair, I am not jealous of others are willing to pay these prices, but what does upset me a little is the poor divers (and I mean that quite literally) who collected the "original" strain doesn't in any way benefit from the craze of it all.

They are only expensive if reefers keep paying those prices. If reefers stop paying, the vendor just has to sit with it. When they make no money the prices will come down.
@northeastcorals2 жыл бұрын
Well yes this is what they call supply & demand, which is basically how all economies work. If the demand is high & the supply is low the price will rise & vice versa. For some reason people seem to get really upset about this fact but it's just human nature so it's a bit like shouting at the sky for being blue.. it ain't gonna change.

@hurricaneaquatics2 жыл бұрын
Only in reefing, will people spend insane amounts of money on fragile animals that have about a 20% chance of actually living past 3 weeks. The reason I give that number is two fold. Most people that buy expensive corals are brand new reefers that have no idea how to keep water and the environment the corals need to thrive. Second, you never know how long the coral farm/seller has owned the coral. Could have owned it a few weeks and it didn't ship well and will most likely die in a well kept system. I've spent my fair share for sure, but GOLD is a much better long term investment 😄

Still wouldn't buy these even if they were priced 80% off. Personally I like my tank to have a natural look. Color on color is cool but I think the reefers that run deep blue lighting with brightly colored crazy colored corals make the whole tank look fake and take away the whole idea of having a slice of the ocean. Might as well get a black light with fake neon corals for the same effect.
@yoooofufuuu2 жыл бұрын
is all about the hype .if u fall for it ,then they got u ...all the cornbread ones u said u can get them for the low..from cornbread corals auction on ebay. stay alway from the website ..everything u see on the website u get it low on auction..is all about the hype ,u buy it high then it stay high u give that coral a price tag..don't fall for it happy reefing
