Not to rain on the microfiber cloths parade, as I do think they are better than wipes, but they are still extremely pollutant to the water. The tiny, invisible fibers are released every time you wash them and they can't be filtered because they're too small, so they end up in the sea. A cleanser and a cotton cloth seems like a better option. Just putting the information out there, in case anyone is interested, not having a go at anyone! :-)

Yes, unfortunately it's another thing for us to worry about. *rolls eyes* Not just microfibers but any synthetic fibers. And these really fluffy ones are probably worse, I imagine.

I have used the rescue box for 1 week and got to say my skin and lips has not looked this good in a loong time. Thank you Ruth! And the makeup remover towel is nothing short of magic. LOVE IT!

I love that you address the waste problem! Will have to check out the cloths, since I have been known to use wipes every now and again when I can't be bothered to cleanse my face properly.

Look after yourself Ruth, you have had lots of stress recently on top of the normal stress of being a working Mum. You must have felt crap to skip your cleansing as I know you view it like I do as a bit of a spa-treat experience. Smelling my Clarins products at the end of a hard day always make me feel better!

Love as always Ruth your honest approach hope you are feeling better soon. Very curious about the Bobbi brown foundation... will stay tuned for more on that. I can be very sensitive to any acid it tends to cause massive eruptions in my skin but would like to actually use one just haven’t manyto find one I can get on with yet x

The La Roche Posay Hyalu B5 is absolutely fantastic. Within one week, my skin looks so much more hydrated and small bumps evened out. Just finished roaccutane-which didn’t work for me (aged 40)and this causes no breakouts and the texture of my skin is so much better. I am a month in now and use it at night under my origins gel moisturiser . Great combination and also great under eyes! Buy Hyalu! It’s my holy grail!!

Love my Bobbi Brown products and after a lot of trial and error with foundations found the Skin Foundation which i absolutely adore i was so excited to hear that the weightless was even better and i would love it, thank God i only got a sample, i hate it thank God after reading some of the reviews here im not the only one, i found it thick, hard to spread, felt and looked awful on my skin and didn't last 😔 So sorry for your loss Ruth i lost my dad last July and some days are just terrible i miss him and so many times find myself upset as i was just about to ring him to tell him something 😢 hubby and friends are fantastic and there is real magic in hugs xxxx thinking of you xxxx

Ruth, you should try the Face Halo. I think it's the cleanest item as I use a bar soap every time I use it and machine wash once or twice a week. Shelley x

You are the second youtuber I've watched today who loves the La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5 Serum! (Liah Loo also) so I think I'll have to get some :) Sorry you're having a hard go of it at the moment but do just give yourself whatever time you need to grieve; it can take quite a long time to really get through and everyone's different. Just be easy on yourself and if you don't do things up to your usual standards, it just doesn't matter. Big hug! xo

Nadine recommended the primark cloths and they are great also 3 in a pack for £2.50 but they all need washing first as they do leave fluff if not .

Don´t be too harsh on yourself for going to bed without a proper routine, sometimes the sleep and rest is what we need the most, and I can only imagine how much you have to deal with right now.

As another person mentioned the Primark microfibre face cloths are excellent. I bought a box of 3 for £2.50 They do exactly the same job as the Miracle Eraser.

Yep I bought 1 after Nadine mentioned them and it is amazing. I’m off to buy a few more at £1.50 each what’s not to love

princesscharlott1983 she did indeed. When I popped into Primark all they had were the single pink ones so I bought one to try it out. When I returned days later to get some more the pink ones had gone to be replaced by the three pack version. Win win.

Hang in there - As a work-from-home mom with two under 3 in the middle of nowhere and no childcare - I feel you... everything is amplified stress, loneliness, etc... especially with grief mixed in. 💕

Hi Ruth. Having been a Bobbi Brown fan for many years was excited to hear all the hype about the weightless longwear foundation. Alas, like yourself found it thick, difficult to blend and mid afternoon wore off around nose and chin area, so looked fairy caked and patchy after only using just under 2 pumps. Must say I was very disappointed with this product.

Ruth, I use those pads everyday and sometimes twice 😧 I have oily skin it's very prone to break outs if I don't keep it super clean. I ran out of pads and didn't get more for a few days and have four huge hormonal breakouts on my face now. I'm on a super super tight budget so I use the superdrug ones and recently bought ones in Aldi. They're just as good and at least 1/3 cheaper. I love skincare and skincare videos etc but most of the time I can't afford any of it.

I really wanted to love the Bobbi brown foundation but it just wasn’t for me. I have oilier skin, and while it lasted well, it never settled. It stayed tacky all day no matter how much powder I used and it just annoyed me. Went straight back to my Chanel velvet lumiere ❤️

Hi Ruth - I don't know if this would help but perhaps you could take a quick photo rather than write a note each day to keep track of what you're using. Just delete at the end of the month :)

if I'm feeling lazy I use micellar water to cleanse and then go over with a face wipe. was too tipsy to even do that last weekend so was very naughty and passed out in a full face. well I ripped my false eyelashes off...

I hope Caroline won't get a heart attack knowing that you're using exfoliating pads as your second cleanse! 😂But also, sometimes you just do what you can do in regards to your skincare. Hope things improve soon ❤️
