I always feel guilty killing Lynels. They seem really intelligent and you really gotta provoke them to get a hostile response. Who’s the real monster here? The noble hermit? Or the wandering undead zealot with his pockets full of body parts, knives, and bugs, doped to the gills on performance enhancing drugs?

You’re forgetting the DLC, which states that the coliseum was “a place for soldiers to test their might.” I think that it was more a place for nights and soldiers to train - with the added benefit of entertainment for the spectators. Edit: exact text is “a battleground where brave souls tested their skill,” so interpret as you will.

My apologies for not making it known in the video, I didn't mention the DLC contents as DLC isn't 100% canon. Some parts are, some aren't so I left it incase that was false :D

Hyrule Gamer makes sense, I just always figured that even though the actual rewards (such as the phantom armor) were always non canon but I didn’t see a reason that the descriptions of their locations couldn’t be canon. I don’t think it really matters because without a statement from Nintendo, it’s just up to opinion on what is and isn’t canon in the DLC, so I see what you mean.

Lake Kilsie is definitely one of those locations that strikes me as 'weird' in the meaning that nothing about it adds up. The lake strangely has no fish, but has 3 docks. There's no signs of life; not from Hylian, Zora nor Rito. There's some monsters around sure, but asides from the usual pigeon and rhino, its unusually devoid of life. The lack of trees, flowers, weapons, campfire, settlements, or even tents and corpses certainly imply that nobody has even bothered to live there. The lack of a path to even go into the lake is so strange too. It reminds me of TP's Lake Hylia in that regard; in that the journey to get there requires unusual methods that most travelers wouldn't dare to use given the harsh climate conditions of the Hebra Region. Its also unusual that it boasts a secret hot spring, but a little west of the lake, there's a Hinox and a Lynel just roaming around. Not to mention that getting to this particular shrine is tricky in itself, as the way to it is rather unorthodox. Its also strange that there's such a huge cave right next to the lake that is perfect for housing the shrine. How did this lake even came to be? why is it so devoid of life? What purpose did it serve, if any?

Is it really that hard to just take it as a natural formation? There doesn't need to be a deeper meaning behind _everything_ in Hyrule. Lake Kilsie could just be a natural lake that has existed for centuries, and people built docks to get across it. That's my take.
@sylmaerie
@sylmaerie Жыл бұрын
@@QueenofSilence101 docks wouldn’t help you get across it tho…boats or bridges would. you can find a boat at the docks but the fact that there’s both boats And docks means there should have been other signs of some kind of civilization like fishing stuff but there’s not even any fish. there’s very clearly something weird going on

So, this my theory. I think, they're using botw's engine and map, I think there'll be a time jump back in time, and I think we will see hyrule in its previous state prior to the calamity, I think we will see all the ruins and structures in there prime. I also think there will be a third game in the series. It's gonna be a trilogy.

@@raph3699 Technically there already ARE a handful of trilogies within the Zelda series which games are connected to each other albeit in a vague and not as story driven way. The 2 Oracle games(according to the Lore) are considered prequels to Link's Awakening which directly continues the story from those games and also has the same gameplay. With that in mind all 3 games are part of a trilogy. The Wind Waker had 2 sequels that both shared the same style and story making all 3 of them part of the "Wind Waker Trilogy". Finally there's the Four Swords which had both a prequel and a sequel that circle around the Minish/Picori blade and the wind mage Vaati. All 3 can be seen as part of the "Four Sword Trilogy". All in all the Zelda series has already had a handful of trilogies with their own unique style and story. Should BotW be part of a trilogy that would make it the fourth one.

I think the docks on Lake Kilsie were made by the Rito, as a fishing spot, either before or after the Calamity. Edit: In the DLC for Breath of the Wild, the bandit, Misko, hid a piece of armour in the coliseum and wrote in his journal: "...one found in the place where soldiers used to train,..." So, technically, the coliseum was used to train soldiers and give entertainment to the residents of Hyrule.

@@HyruleGamer Even with the DLC not being canon, the coliseum doesn't make much sense as a prison when there's a giant, wide open door to it. And even they had a gate large enough for the entry at one point, a prison with no roof is still a pretty huge design flaw.

tmntman There are also a bunch of ruins near the coliseum entrance which probably indicates there were soldiers always stationed here. Also the exchange ruins, the great plateau, and a few destroyed homes were in such close proximity to this location that it wouldn’t make sense for it to be an execution facility. Why put a place like that so close to extremely lively and bustling areas?

If it was PvP then it would be really annoying with players constantly parrying or flurry rushing you and might be weird as well since usually Zelda games are PvE and you might have to buy Nintendo online. If it is PvE then it would be pretty fun like an arena in the Colosseum against monsters or knights but I highly doubt they will even add that. Edit: just Incase someone asks cuz I’m too lazy to reply PvP means player vs player and PvE means player vs enemy(basically cpu) for those who are wondering or are using the wrong terms

I think you’re the first youtuber who’s mentioned Lake Kilsie. It’s one of my favorite locations in the game. Everything about the place seems eerie and lonely, and it’s just so strange. I always notice that it’s always snowing whenever I go there. Is that just me? I’ve never seen it in clear daylight. I also thought the same about the docks... I always thought that maybe the people who used to live in Tabantha Village would occasionally come here, but I purposely made it my mission to find a pathway that the people could take to get to this lake... But there wasn’t any. Like you said it’s a giant pit surrounded by steep cliffs, with no way down. Also I was able to take pictures of underneath the lake, and it’s actually extremely deep... More so than most lakes in Hyrule. Also another thing about it... Notice how there’s A LOT of air currents around the lake? Why is there so many here? Where are all these updrafts coming from? Also notice the Flight Range is extremely close to this lake... and that big pit has a huge constant updraft for whatever reason just like the one’s in Lake Kilsie. Could the two locations be connected by underground caverns? Also sorry for the huge comment... I just got excited about Lake Kilsie!!!! Hehe

I always assumed that the Great Plateau was where the original castle was located and the current castle was built later. Since its impossible to scale OoT's map to any other game plus with the size and daylight span differences, the distance and location to Death Mountain and other landmarks would be greatly off. My theory is with the further expansion of Hyrule that included the Hebra Province and the Rito people along with possible wars with distant lands and prosperity brought on with the Sheikah the royal family had a new castle constructed, leaving the older one more as a pilgrimage landmark that eventually became abandoned and then unreachable as time went on, later further damaged by the gaurdians.

I know I'm a bit late to this, but I had a realization when he started talking about the Temple of Time on the Great Plateau. About how the windows are broken, walls are smashed, moss is growing all over it... but honestly most of the ruins around don't even _have_ windows or walls left at all, every one of them has Bokoblins around and a lot of it is overgrown. The Temple of Time looks like it's been _protected_ all this time, as supposedly it would have been there _longer_ than the ruins around it. I think the real point about the Temple of Time is how much better off it is than most, even considering its obvious structural damage. Also, no Bokoblins or enemies are ever _inside_ the temple itself. They can be out on the steps, "inside" the bare remains of other buildings, but the Temple's main interior seems protected.

Lake Kilsie after inspection seems like it could’ve been directly related to the Rito, there’s vents for them to get up the cliff and it is in very close proximity to the flight range. Maybe it was a combination of additional training grounds and a place to get fish so they don’t overfish their own waters surrounding the Roost.

There is a temple of sorts located within the ruins of Castle Town. If you face the castle and head right you will eventually come to a location just south of the moat known as the Hyrule Cathedral. A Korok can be found here, and as barren as it is the location is important enough for its name to appear onscreen. I often wonder what it looked like.

If we get to go underground to the ruins of arbiters grounds (as we see in botw it is somewhere deep under the sand) then I would definitely love that. Maybe we could even get something referencing twilight princess, like a broken lamp or something, unexplained on the ground, but it’s really from the poes that link destroyed so long ago. Being that lake kilsie is located in the hebra region, associated to the Rito, possibly the docks were built by the Rito themselves. Considering they fly, they have no need for an easily accessible foot path to the lake shore. It seems more logical than a lake of the dead without any further hint like graves or bones. I like where you were going with it though, but I'd associate death more with Mekar Island and its incredible amount of stal enemies.

A little note, the kingdom's technology was not really in its prime, most Sheikah tech like the guardians was already ancient, it was forgotten even by that age's Sheikah, and the Sheikah were helping to excavate it in the laboratory. We can probably assume it was the workshop of Purah, Robbie and maybe Impa, and they probably would have taken anything left after the calamity to their new locations.

I found everything except for Lake Kilsie by exploring Hyrule. I think the docks were built by the Sheikah monks who made the shrine! They had to have a way to travel and bring supplies to the area (remember that it is nearly impossible to access the shrine except via the air current/bombable area) AND it's a super snowy area. It would be hard to air drop supplies via paraglider, as that needed specialty tools and people with immense stamina as well as warming potions/food/armour. Here's what I think. The sheikah were looking for spaces to hide a shrine. They saw the area as good (as it is cold and very closed off). The sheikah bombed out the trench looking lake, filled it with water and made the boat that floats there. They then used the boat to send supplies in to create the shrine and set up the challenges.

I think the royal ancient lab was made to learn more about the ancient sheikah tech that was found underground. The Sheikah at that time were not advanced. The advanced technology belonged to the ancient sheikah, but that technology was forgotten, and the sheikah 100 years before the game were not advanced.

Auru was referring to Ganondorf; not to various criminals. 2) The Arbiter's Grounds was an execution base, not a prison (although dark magic was sealed there). 3) Although the term "underworld" (meaning "afterlife") is derived from the Japanese script, the literal meaning "that world", which explains where that particular misunderstanding came from. There's also the possibility that Auru was meaning "afterlife" and was simply meant to be confused. 4) It is made plain that the malice of the dead still lingers in the Arbiter's Grounds. People who know their Japanese mythology should be aware that emotions can take spiritual manifestations, hence the monsters there.

I definitely think a previous iteration of Zelda did something similar to the way Hylia lifted Skyloft into the sky. But she moved around the great plateau, the lost woods, and the arbiters grounds. Also I think the coliseum was a portion of the arbiters grounds separated off in this event, maybe to preserve the site of the twilight mirror.

The official (Aonuma, et al.) line on the Arbiter's Grounds from Breath of the Wild is that it IS NOT the same as that in Twilight Princess. Perhaps the original IS under the sands (or, given Hyrule's tendency to alter geographically over the ages, in an entirely different region, altogether), but the one in Breath of the Wild's Gerudo Desert is not the one Ganondorf was held in prior to his botched execution.
