Not favorite ruins, but strange thing no one ever seems to mention: we keep finding zora clothes and armor in places that could be ambiguously called final resting places. Are the BotW hat and the TP set actually corpses?!

@SamRegan610

Fi is definitely "fy" and not "fee" which we know thanks to Hyrule Warriors promotional material but Farore is one that gets tossed around a lot. I say "fuh-ROAR" but I hear stuff like "fuh-ROH-ray," "FER-roh" (which makes no sense, where'd the second R go?), "FAY-roar," etc. Unless there is official confirmation from games/developers/promotion/etc, we shouldn't be too confident with how we say many proper nouns in Zelda (and beyond). If it weren't for Age of Calamity, I wouldn't have known that I'd been pronouncing Akkala wrong for three and a half years!

I was just thinking about this! Notice how the song and the other trial deal with rocks as well as wind, rather than something solely wind based! You wouldn't really think of rocks being associated with birds, but the rito from WW had a deep connection with the earth

Well the Zora helmet's explanation is given within the game. There's a sidequest in which you find and read all those tablets around Zora's domain. The one closest to the domain is slightly damaged but it's easy to fill in the blanks, but it tells of the hero who defeated the Lynel and mentions where the Zora's helmet was placed :P

@@HyruleGamer Yeah, the Lost Woods being tricky itself when traveling off in the beaten path you end up whisked away to a torch stand checkpoint, that in mind where did the stands come from? Also was the archway is 1000 years old and used as an outpost when the Sheikah installed the shrines or it could be older than that? As for the giant bones and I'm not talking the leviathan bones though included, I ran across an interesting set of bones in one of the lava rivers in Mount Doom. It was a skull and rib cage just lying in lava, hates to think what these guys looked in the flesh to survive in magma. Guess-estimating that these giants were as tall as the Sheikah towers. What is more curious is the giant skull set atop a tower. Thinking where it was and the towers were at ground level idle before Link activate the system, meaning that the body fell on top the buried tower making the royal claymore being the killing blow, but begs again was that 1000 years ago or recent of 100 years? Plus when gliding over the giant bones, it reminds me of 'Nausicaa: Of the Valley of the Wind'.

Given mummy Ganondorf, clearly the Sages or at least their respective temples (people may have forgotten the legend gone myth about the Hero of Time) had some form of importance for the Hyleans and others residents of Hyrule pre-calamity but not even AoC gave a hint about this so the temples might have been some ruins before just slightly better in shape previous to the awakening of Calamity Ganon.

Heres some food for thought: The names of the 3 dragons in BotW (Farosh, Dinraal, and Naydra) correspond to the names of the 3 goddesses (Farore, Din, and Nayru), with the regions these dragons live in also corresponding to the names of the goddesses (FAR-on, El-DIN, and La-NAYRU).

@@HyruleGamer You're welcome! You certainly do put forward great theories. Yes please that would be excellent! Given that the entire franchise is linked (no pun intended) to BotW, I reckon that there is much more to discover. I'm also a firm believer that there are many new discoveries in BotW that have yet to be uncovered, I intend on looking further into this (late last year I speculated that, by putting the corresponding dragon scales on each of the respective triangular islands which you find for the Sunken Treasure, you would see the Tower of the Gods appear or something similar; I speculated that, given that WW is officially linked to BotW, Nintendo would have added an easter egg in reference to WW - unfortunately, because of the wind in the area, I couldn't hold them all in one place and nothing really happened anyway).

Loved this vid! I do have a suggestion regarding the Toto Lake Helmet in the drowned ruin, though - that's not Zora Architecture at all. It's Hylian architecture (the same kinds of tower structure are found throughout Hylian ruins across the map, after all)! What if the ruins were built by the Hylians as a means of maintaining a presence (and perhaps even a lookout) in the Domain, with the Helm being something of a traditional gift to whoever was supposed to stay in the now-ruined location in memory of the Hero who had captured the hearts of the Zora (I mean... Links have a *history* with Zora nobility, don't they lol)? Thanks for covering the Shadow Hamlet some more, and I love learning about the Springs!

I've always had the impression that the shrines were built to utilize pre-existing ruins, or even ruins which don't exist yet, as the Sheika could see the future, so I'm not sure we can infer much about when things date from based on a shrine being connected to them. For evidence, consider the shrines which have no challenge inside, but just give you a reward for reaching them, yet the only challenge to reaching them was some big enemy who took up residence there. They must have known that would happen.

The stone pillars at Warbler's Nest remind me an awful lot of the Howling Stones from Twilight Princess. Both the pillars and the Howling stones require a certain melody to activate. Plus the Warbler's Nest pillars require a strong gust of wind to be used, similar to how the Howling Stones' melodies can be heard when wind passes through them.

I remember being very disappointed by the Sage Temple when I got there. It was just another collection of ruined stone buildings hiding a korok seed. Wouldn't it have been nice if it'd been 7 buildings in a circle around a stone platform, like the way we see the sages in Ocarina?

I wasn't really thinking about that when I saw it. Like most of the references I just said cool walked around a while picked up the korok if ther was one and continued on my merry journey.

Something interesting said by the monks in certain shrines is "A hero rises to right the wrongs of Hyrule..." A hero. Not THE hero. Maybe all of the shrines were made to find 'the one'- the hero who was worthy- and could have been from any race, not just Hylian.

Not going to lie, I like the Hyrule we see in Breath of the Wild. It's a very unforgiving place, but it's also very beautiful. I think I'd want to set up as a knight (or a soldier I guess, "soldier's armor") in Hateno village and make little one person expeditions to scout out the land and either scare off or pick off bokoblins in the surrounding territory. I think that it'd be pretty cool. Plus all the fighters are dumb as a box of rocks when it comes to fighting.

I love these kinds of videos! I do have a thought about the Zora's Domain ruins though. You said that it could've been a temple used to worship "the LAST Zora Queen". The last Zora Queen would've been Mipha's and Sidon's mother. Do you really think it likely that King Dorephan would abandon a temple meant to honor his (presumed) late wife? Instead, what if it were built to honor another famous Zora? Someone that heavily influenced Zora history and culture. After all, they did name a Divine Beast after her.

I think that the music activated shrine could be a nod made by the Sheikah to the Rito, as you said, and that it's importance may be in language. The Rito likely had a language akin to birdsong from our world. Since they evolved from the Zora (if my lore is correct), there could also be more aquatic tone communication, such as with whales and dolphins, included in their lingual history. The key for the shrine may be something in that secret and/or nearly lost language since they seem to be at least fluent, and possibly dominant, in the Hylians' language by the time of BotW.

One area I’d love to see in BOTW2 would be a monster village. Similar to a cross between the animal village in links awakening and the few friendly monsters in game, the village would be hidden from humans and would be inhabited by various enemies, ruled by Lynels, and inhabited by wizzrobes, moblins, bokoblins and lizalfols. Maybe they would worship the dragons, seeing them as a giant monsters, and maybe kilton would try to find its location.

One of my favourite places in the game is the remains of a house just north Dueling Peaks, where you can also find a mini-shrine with two korok apple-puzzle statues. It makes me always wonder who lived there in such an isolated place

@@HyruleGamer It's just nex to the Dueling Peaks. If you open the map you will notice a small group of trees downside the northern slope, it is located there, you can't miss it. There is also a small enemy campsite nearby. It's not a big deal, but I find these kind of isolated remote places fascinating for some reason. I take the chance to congratulate you on the channel, it's awesome.

Actually in breath of the wild, there is a monument dedicated to the history of the zora, and there's one (though deteriorated) that mentions the zora helm and the story of the hero who defeated the Lynel atop Polymous Mountain. If you follow one of the side quests in the game, you can talk to the zora historian who asks Link to find all 10 zora stone monuments dedicated to the history of their race. The historian also tells Link that one or more of the monuments may mention treasure and that Link can keep the treasure if he finds it. I believe it is number 6/10 of the monuments (not found in any particular order but like part 6) that mentions the story of the helm worn by the hero of an age since past who defeated the Lynel atop Polymous Mountain while wearing the zora helm. The monuments also tells the reader where the zora helm now rests: Toto Lake. Hope this helps clarify a little bit of information about Toto Lake and the chest containing the zora helm found within

I think for warbler’s nest, it could be possible the ruins were built then some time after, the sheikah made it a shrine quest. I’ve only played botw and the Link’s awakening remake, so I might be wrong, but from what I can tell, the sheikah don’t really “colab” with others. Or at the very least not the Rito. But that’s just a thought, a speculative thought!

Some other examples of dungeons that had a use other than having monster to oppose the heroe, would be the ancient cistern, that was a water purification center, the Goron mines, that were the source of the Goron's food, the temple of time on twilight princess, that was used to store the messenger of the skies dominion rod, and some obvious ones:the city on the sky, being a city, the pirate ship, the temple of the ocean king, and snow snowpeak ruins

Zora History Tablet #7 talks about the Zora Helm, actually. I don't remember the text word for word, but something about it being from Link defeating that Lynel on the mountain 100 years ago. The helm is probably there to honor him, since he fell in the Calamity.

I am thoroughly convinced that there is some magical nonsense reason for why Hyrule's terrain keeps changing so often. First up is how Hylia raised Skyloft, which is also going to happen all over again in Breath of the Wild's sequel. I bet it's not the first time, and the floating islands were moved around in the process.

Something that just occurred to me was that I noticed in Breath of the Wild Hyrule Warriors, where are the dragons? I think that where each of the sacred springs are like for Wisdom, Power, and Courage they might be sealed within them. Or there’s a possibility that if Skyloft is still up there hidden in the clouds they might be there just sealed away.

There are 2 'Ruins' I'm curious as to @Hyrule Gamer 's thoughts. - The couple stone buildings in the Wetlands off the side of Tarrey Town- There are 2 Stalker Guardians and 1 Decayed Guardian [Active]. - The large stone buildings near Rist Peninsula, the columns in the middle are interesting sure, but the ones up the cliff nearby are also really interesting, being home to a small "pool" of rainwater, and a magnet block Korok puzzle. What do you think? What buildings used to be here? Especially with the ruined columns in the Wetlands are BIG.
@kingdaniel3519
@kingdaniel3519 3 жыл бұрын
The Torin Wetlands are quite interesting to me as well. Especially the buildings under Lake Akkala. Creating a Champion states that the ruins were there pre-Calamity, same with the ruins leading down to Rist Peninsula. Unfortunately, that's about all of the information that we have on these areas. Personally, I think that the ruins on the cliff above East Akkala Beach and the ruins above the Rist Peninsula were used to watch Malin Bay and to warn the settlement in Torin of danger, and the settlement was some kind of exchange between Hyrule and other kingdoms conducting trade from the East and North. It makes sense. I mean, someone built a lighthouse on the northeastern-most edge of Akkala. A lighthouse means tons of ships and boats. If that doesn't scream "trade route" I don't know what does. However, we know that Akkala Citadel was built to protect Hyrule from outside attack in those directions, which implies that an attempt had been made by those kingdoms to invade Hyrule at least once. After the invasion attempt and the construction of Akkala Citadel, there wouldn't be any further need of a harbor, foreign exchange or lighthouse.
