idk about the USA, but it's fairly common to eat pigeon in the UK if you've been out shooting them or whatever. Tastes similar to chicken or pheasant.

the wood pigeons people shoot over here live in rural areas with no pollution or anything so they taste pretty good! I can imagine the city ones would be pretty nasty and filthy though yeah.

thedevilisaloser666 I'm sorry I completely forgot to reply but I was doing a student coop at a local cemetery and on record the first burials on the property were from 1847 I know for a fact that we have extremely old records from the 1700s as i was constantly filing burial cards and taking out old ones to digitally record who was buried in which plot. The building is pretty small and the outside is made of stone so it looks pretty creepy but the inside had been renovated recently. This old wood flooring was right underneath some basic office carpeting and when you walk in you are greeted in a reception area that also doubled as the work space for the 3 other people who worked there. Then there is a doorway to a small room that was used to hold meetings and this room lead to 4 places. The supervisors office, a room we called the vault, the upstairs lunch area and the basement. All of these have doors which are closed until the supervisor gets in to unlock them except the vault. I get to the cemetery at 8am along with the other people who worked there and our supervisor comes at 9am. I had this one task I had to do everyday where I look through the paper and search for obituaries of the people being buried at the cemetery so I can copy them and put them in that person's file (honestly don't know i had to do it why but I didn't ask questions). The paper is usually upstairs in the lunch room so I went up there and I finished searching through the paper in like 20 minutes. I grabbed only the pages I needed to photocopy and I placed the rest of the newspaper onto a large pile maybe 4 ft high of news papers we had stacked against the wall and some boxes. This was a pretty solid stack and it was leaning towards the wall and some heavy boxes filled with files so it would take some significant force to push it over. I was going down the very narrows stairs when I heard my supervisor call for me so I went up to her door and knocked and I didn't get an answer so opened it and she wasn't there. Me being the non believer I am, I honestly just thought that I was tired and hearing things so I closed her door and right when I did I heard her call from the basement and this basement is the creepiest fucking basement you could imagine, the width of the stairway was definitely less than a meter and it was an extremely deep basement. I really hated going down there bc of all the bugs and stuff so I opened the door to the basement stairs and it turns out the light was off so I turned it on and called out my supervisors name and I got no reply. I sure as shit was not going down there and the giant heater is right by the stairs so I just blamed it on the heater. I turned off the light and closed the door and went to photocopy the obituary and then I walked back upstairs to go put the pages I photocopied onto the stack of newspapers. When I got up there they were scattered everywhere. This was the lunch room so there were sinks and fridges and stuff and there were newspapers all the way across the room on the floor, in the sink, on the table and right at the doorway. I honestly don't know how it happened bc there is a window but can't be opened plus it was winter so it wouldn't be open anyways. I know it wasn't my coworkers because all of them were in the office while I was photocopying and I would have seen them pass me and go up there. The room where the stairs to go to the second floor is just one normal 4 walled room so you can see all the entrances to the basement, the office, the vault, the 2nd floor stairs and the reception from any point in the room so there was no way someone could sneak upstairs without me noticing. It was a pain in the ass to clean up the newspapers and stuff but honestly I didn't care bc it gave me something to do and I spent most of my days there bored out of my mind and I didn't get any cell service in that building so I'm glad that chapter of my life is over with. Sorry it's so long and it's probably all over the place, im a pretty garbage storyteller ngl
