I just wanted to say thank you for all the creepy stories. I live these stories myself in a way. The creepy skinny thing visits my family's field a lot. My dad calls it dog bear, and wont let anyone outside when it's around. When it's in the field all you can smell is decay. The Windows being closed don't stop the smell when it comes close to the house either. It doesn't have eyes just black holes where eyes should be. Dad calls it dog bear cuz it's the size of a bear but skinny like a grey hound dog and looks as tho it has mange real bad. It's been showing up here since he was a kid. I keep telling him it's neither a dog or a bear that it's either a skin walker, wendigo, or the rake but he says no and not to talk of those things. Yeah we're Cherokee and it causes them to show up if you talk of them. I say obviously it'll show up either way considering it's been showing up for around 60 yrs. (Btw the way everyone pronounces Cherokee is not the proper pronunciation but, I've tried teaching ppl how to say it right and it don't work.)

Wendigo are native american spirits who possess those who have tasted human flesh. That person becomes a ravenous beast of their former self that hunts down more human meat. A skinwalker is a native american shaman or spirit with the ability to transform into animals, but can't always transform completely. Wendigo = pale human creature Skinwalker = misshapen animal/human hybrid

Finally one about Hesperia My home , lived up here for 26 years. Honda valley is beautiful during the day , but at night it's a mystery thanks Darkness, I listen to your creepy stories everyday while I'm working , I make and package boxes in Ontario CA in a warehouse I live in Hesperia CA it's a 40 min drive. I would LOOOVE to hear more true stories about shadow figures and doppelgangers. Its something that mesmerizes and terrifies me. I've personally have had several run ins with shadow figures and the events still scare me to my soul. So hearing others stories is kinda therapeutic for me. Also, how do I go about adding my own absolutely 100% true? I need to share these experience with the world in the hopes of helping someone else know that they are not either alone, crazy or, by far, not the only one to go thru it. Hi I have a story The thing Once I was in summer land as a 8th years old little girl whit my family and family friends. Because I was young, my friends wasn't allowed to come so I got bored by myself. On one of are last night, we made a fire on the beach. And there were also swings a little farther from us on the beach. When my mom was making are fire, I spot the swings and ask my mom if I could go. She was not paying attention so she just went like ok you can. I was so happy and sprinted to the swings. Besides the swings there was a public bathroom the side that was not close to the water, it was very dark. I chose the swings the farthest from the bathroom, and now, I think it's by luck. After a few swings I turned my head towards the dark side of the bathroom. I saw a dark, shadowe human figure. It was just looking at me whit both hands on the wall, the thing was coming a little closer to me. Thank goodness I sprinted back to the fire. I told my parents and they seemed worried. My dad took are family dog to go see what was the deal. When my dad came back, he said he saw it and it ran away when the thing saw them. Now, I wonder what would happen if I stayed a few seconds latter. If my instincts didn't kick in, I probably wouldn't be here today. -sdb
