Hindu is not even a religion term but cultural/geographical word, and anyways we criticize and reform it. It is sadly the umbrella term for everything discovered in Indian civilization and its history/discoveries/Vedic knowledge (Vedas = Knowledge) are not even studied, researched or taught in school because it has been termed as "religious" which is stupid. Which culture doesn't explore its own history/achievements? We are the most self-defeating nation. ALSO hypocritical since ACTUAL religious books like the Quran and Bible are allowed to be taught in madrassas or catholic schools but the actual scientific books are not even explored? WHY should we - as the only oldest living civilization -not teach about our own history? And how can we treat Ramayan and Mahabharata as Mythology whenwe have archaeological evidence? At least if not the history they are legends which made a crucial impact on South Asian culture. You don't have to be religious to know about them. We in our culture are known to worship people from our own community and Krishna and ram are shown as enlightened being just like Budha or Mahaveer were. They are also the biggest and oldest literature in the world - nothing about heaven and hell but a freaking STORY. Another thing we boast about is classical Indian music, yoga, meditation and Ayurveda but we aren't taught about Vedas and Sapt-rishis? WHY is the whole of our civilizational knowledge is being shunned as being religious just because someone said so? It's clearly not. Faith is personal, let us decide what is useful or not by reading, researching and exploring rather than being oblivious about it.
