We retired at 62, and never looked back. Five years later, we still wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for this video!

I retired at 62 Love it. You don't know how good it feels to retire from a job you HATE 😡

Working a job that you hate produces even more stress! So glad you were able to retire!

You're so right about not knowing what stress we're under until it's gone. I found that in the pandemic when all my gigs stopped. I couldn't belive the difference.

Hey 👋 Keith & Terri, ☕️☕️☘️happy day! Birds are chirping, sun is shining upon us, the flowers and trees are blooming, I was already out for a long walk with my granddog 🐕 at sunrise ☀️ It’s great to be retired and loving it! My passion is painting and drawing. After 3 years of retirement I found my passion again. I’m living my dream after all these years working for others. All fun now, no pressure! How about that!

Great video. All true and great reasons to hit the door as soon as you can. The big one for me was stress. Never knew I had any till I retired. Feels great and it's hard to explain to others the benefits of retirement. Steve

We are taking a road trip right now! It was supposed to be a Spring Break trip with our 20 yo grandson (we take one yearly) but he couldn't go because he had too much college schoolwork to catch up on. It was already planned so we're taking it! 😁 We got to take an overnight trip earlier this week with our daughter and 16 yo grandson so she could take him to the Kia Center to see Orlando Magic vs Brooklyn Nets (so your video there helped!). Hope we'll get to do something with our 2 granddaughter's at a later date.

My doctor told me that i have to keep my body and brain challenged in retirement. He said so many people retire to watching tv and sleeping and their health can deteriorate very quickly. Make sure you retire to something and not just away from something.

All great reasons to retire! We pick up our grands three days a week too. This allows them to do after school activities that they could not do otherwise. We just returned from a family trip to Gatlinburg. Would not trade this time in our lives for anything. Off this afternoon to watch our grandson play soccer. Definitely living the life! Have a wonderful week!

Yes, absolutely agree with everything! My husband can retire with his pension in 4 more years and that's it for us. We want to move to Florida and yes, we will probably take on small part time jobs but we are so ready now. Thank you so much for sharing your perspective!

65 and out for us. I need medicare to do out. I am also looking into individual health care and if we can swing it out we go. Already saving for purchasing our own health care and once we have enough we will go early. Looked at Medishare and others and the price is doable if we save up ahead for it.

Thanks for watching Jim & Pearl! Keith was 65 and I was 63 so I had two years to pay for healthcare before I was eligible for Medicare.

If I hated my job I’d retire as soon as I can. My Dad hated his job and retired at 60 He is 90 today living in a nursing home

We agree that it's best to retire as soon as possible. Kathy had to retire because of health reasons at 63. She wasn't to bad off then, but she worked in the health care field where mistakes can't be made and she was beginning to make them. I continued working another 5+ years and regret it now. I could have then at the same time, but didn't. We would have had another 5 years then of travel and fun that we will never recover. But, hindsight is 20-20. That all being said, we're still physically healthy and having a great time! Climbing up a mountain today. Well, driving anyway! 🤣🤣Great advice, Terri and Keith. As long as you prepared, retire as soon as possible.

Dave, the turn offs on life’s highway are sometimes not that clearly marked. You followed the road that seemed the best one to follow. Hindsight is deceiving and ‘ain’t everything’! Travel safe up that mountain. You and Kathy are amazing. ❤

what did it cost you for obama care insurance
@RetiredLovingIt4 ай бұрын
It all depends on your income You fill out a bunch of information For the most part I paid around $250 per month but there was a couple months that I paid well over $500 per month

Obamacare is garbage. Most people simply need to work till 65. Not to mention the money you leave & taking a tiny SS benefit
@calvinreichelderfer79893 ай бұрын
It’s not stressful shelling out a bunch of money for high deductible healthcare insurance!😂😂😂

Nice discussion, lovely people. Very personal decision. I feel most people really need to be at least 65. Obamacare is garbage. You leave a large amount of money on the table particularly if you're a high earner& you can't make much money or your penalized. You also take a tiny SS benefit. Great discussion, great big decision

I can say for sure in my case the costs of living in retirement are NOT much less than I thought they would be. In fact as we age healthcare costs can become very significant. Just our Medicare supplemental insurance is over $7000/yr. We also pay about $1500/yr for dental insurance. Prescription drug insurance is only a thousand or so BUT there are a great many drugs with very high copays or not covered at all. I can also say I am very glad I did not retire before I had a suitable retirement portfolio. I would not want to be scrapping by, trying to cut corners and not be able to reasonable cost things I enjoy. Many seniors cannot maintain their homes, must cut back on basics such as heat, and stay at home because they cannot afford to drive a car. A great many seniors die early because of financial stress and cutting corners such as not going to doctors/specialists and not taking prescribed drugs because they cannot afford them. DO NOT follow this lame advice. Before you retire, make sure you have the financial resources you need. Don't be in the position of needing to go back to work and finding your only opportunities are hard jobs with low pay.

It’s a very personal decision. Not sure what part of the country you live in but your expenses sound very high. Where we live the cost of living is low in comparison to most places. We appreciate you watching and sharing your point of view.

There are so many reasons why one ‘ought’ to do something. I find life’s choices sometimes hard to fathom or choose from. The world at large needs people to keep communities running. Shops need staff as do businesses and professions. We can’t all just stop at random. Maybe if a job has become too heavy, change to lighter work and less pay for the last years of your working life. Or if you have been frugal and pre planning, work fewer hours. Just to retire for retirement sake doesn’t seem right somehow. Maybe a lifestyle change is also something that makes a pre-retirement lifestyle more appropriate giving space to relax. A healthy mind and body and outlook on life are some of the tools to a happy balanced existence. Good discussion material. Have a great week. ❤ greetings from Australia where I’m holidaying with my son and family. 😎🙋♀️🦘
